Democrats are all in on the issue of trying to bring back illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia from El Salvador. We've reported on how Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) even took a grandstanding trip down to El Salvador to act like he was doing something to bring the man "home."
But once again, they're on the wrong side of the issue with the American people. They've stepped into a trap, all on their own.

Americans tend to be pessimistic when it comes to "right track" and "wrong track" numbers. But they're very clear on the issue of illegal immigration and deportation, as CNN data analyst Harry Enten explained. Enten explained the big difference in "right track" and "wrong track" between Joe Biden and President Donald Trump.
Immigration is "where Trump wants the focus... Pretty, pretty please with a cherry on top."

In December, 62 percent thought Biden was on the wrong track, while only 14 percent thought he was on the right track when it came to immigration. But then there was a massive switch between December and April. Now 45 percent think we're on the right track under Trump, 42 percent on the wrong track. That's a huge move. I suspect that number is actually a little higher, and there may be some on the right who want even more people deported who may not be saying "right track" yet. But given "right track" polls, that's a big number. And that figure of 11 million sounds low when almost 10 million came in under Joe Biden by May 2024. So Americans on the whole like where Trump is going on immigration, Enten said -- quite a different sentiment than they had under Joe Biden.
Then Enten makes it even clearer what that's centered on: that most Americans want all illegal aliens deported. He pointed out the big change from 2016, when it was about 38 percent who wanted that. Now, after four horrible years under the former president, during which Americans could see all the bad effects of his open-door policies, that number has grown sharply -- to 56 percent, the majority. "The American people have come a long way on this issue, much closer to Donald Trump," Enten concluded.
That sure looks like a mandate to me, but this is the hill the Democrats seem to want to implode on. They're so out of step with the American people.
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung told the Democrats to keep going: "A request for Democrats -- please continue to make defending criminal illegal immigrants your top messaging."

Democrats are in a spiral now, and they just keep making it worse.
