Chris Van Hollen Digs That Hole Deeper As He Makes Another Statement About Bringing Abrego Garcia 'Home'

We reported previously on Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen's grandstanding trip to El Salvador to talk about the status of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. He said his request to see or talk with Abrego Garcia was roundly rejected, with the Vice President of El Salvador suggesting he go through the American Embassy. They had to tell a Congressman how you're supposed to do things. But of course, he's not even asking about an American citizen; he's asking about a citizen of El Salvador. So it's a truly bizarre position of a Democrat going there to try to bring a man "home" — when he's an illegal alien.

But Van Hollen continued. Except in this video, you can see it finally dawning on him that people weren't buying what he was trying to sell; you can hear him trying to justify himself.

I don't know what he's talking about here, but yes, a prior court had determined he was a part of MS-13. He wasn't abducted. I don't know what he's talking about — we've written about some of Abrego Garcia's reported connections to MS-13. Then, even more came out from the DOJ on Wednesday. Maybe Van Hollen was too busy running around trying to bring an illegal alien "home" to catch up to the news.

Then there was also the alleged wife-beating.

I have multiple photos/videos of how violent he can be and all the bruises he bas left me.”In her own handwriting, she alleges that Abrego Garcia punched and scratched her on her eye, leaving her bleeding after throwing her laptop on the floor. She writes that on another day, he got angry again, started yelling, and ripped her shirt and shorts off, then grabbed her arm, leaving marks. She also writes that in two times in 2020, he hit her. "In November 2020, he hit me with his work boot"."In August 2020, hit me in the eye leaving a purple eye."

Sounds like the Democrats really are trying to go even lower with their approval numbers with their efforts here. They really are trying to set themselves up on the losing end of every 80/20 issue there is.

Again, Van Hollen was just lit up in the responses on X, with people now linking to the new information as they slammed him.
