SNL's Hilarious Take on Kamala's Reaction to Walz's Debate Implosion

Saturday Night Live seems to be trying to make an effort at being funny again in its 50th anniversary year. It's been messed up for so long by politics that it's hard to remember now when they actually made you laugh.

But they've had a few bits lately where they managed to have some good moments. They had a nice bit last week where Dana Carvey was back to play Joe Biden, and he's got him down, and they even hit the Dems on "the coup."

Then this past Saturday they mocked Walz's debate performance. We wrote earlier about some of it, where once again the class of the field was Carvey.

But they also dealt with the question I had about Walz melting down and saying ridiculous things during the debate: what must Kamala have been thinking as Walz was imploding?

This was quite good.

They had her drinking a big glass of wine while watching the debate with her husband, "Dougie." She says, "I kind of wish I'd picked Josh right now."

Doug responds, "Josh Shapiro?"

"No," she says. "Josh -- Cabernet." Then she slugged down more wine. Intriguing that they went there.

“Look, Tim will be fine. It's not like he's gonna say something crazy.” Emhoff replies.

Then they cut back to the debate with Walz saying he's "become friends with school shooters," which was perhaps the most bizarre thing he said on that night. It's hard to come back from a comment like that.

That's when Kamala crushes her glass in disbelief.

SNL had her drinking and cackling crazily over the regret that she's likely feeling over making such a dumb choice.

I have to imagine her real reaction actually went something like that, although I think I also would have added her freakout with her staff and Walz over his issues. You know that her venting on them must have been epic as Walz's bizarre responses pounded yet another nail in the coffin of her campaign.

You know that if SNL is willing to savage them so hard and go there on some of these issues, that's another indication that the Democrats have a problem and that it's pretty obvious to everyone. Unfortunately for the Democrats, now it's been exposed that both Harris and Walz have significant issues just speaking. Not exactly a good look for a job interview before the whole country.
