People are talking now about the protesters at many universities across the country who have embraced the crazy leftist "thing of the moment" — the protests against Israel. Before that, it was BLM. Before that, it was Occupy.
But the long march through the institutions has been going on for some time, at least since the 60s. People only discovering the problem now are a bit late to the show. The universities have been firmly in the grip of the left for a while. This is why you have the chaos to upend all normal order, to throw out all the old, to preach against the U.S. And even in this latest focus on Israel, the U.S. is still the ultimate villain to the left as the force behind Israel and the evil, chief "colonizer" (in their mind).
Why would you ever want to send your child to a university in the grip of such madness, only to have him/her suborned into becoming a radical leftist, to be turned into a cultist?
That's why it's nice to hear from a man with common sense like Mike Rowe — someone who honors hard work, who showed us the worth of the "dirty job," who teaches there's more to life than a gender studies degree.
Rowe had a few things to say about the chaos taking over the Ivy League universities and other schools.
The Ivy League has truly lost its mind, he declared.
For a guy who runs a foundation that sends young people to trade schools all over America – trade schools where I’m pleased to report, no one is calling for the extermination of Jews – today’s headlines are once again offering another excellent reason to consider redirecting…

Consider how, with the latest madness at Columbia University, they now are going to remote learning "in response to a noisy rabble of thugs and bullies calling for the eradication of Israel."
If I had a kid at Columbia, I’d be livid. It’s simply mind-boggling that the president of this university would rather consign her students to another crucible of remote learning, than permanently expel the protesters. I mean, seriously, what does it take to get expelled from Columbia? These creeps are on camera, literally screaming into the faces of Jewish students.“They yelled at us to go back to Poland, said we have no culture, and chanted, ‘Strike, strike Tel Aviv,” said one terrified student. Followed by, “Burn Tel Aviv to the ground,” “Go Hamas, we love you, we support your rockets, too.”
In a now-infamous image, one demonstrator appeared before a group of counter-protesters holding Israeli and American flags with a sign pointing in their direction that read, “Al-Qasam’s next targets.”That’s what you get for $68,000 a year at Columbia – an administration who cowers in the face of thugs and bullies, and a university president who would rather make your kids try to learn off campus, than take a truly hard line with those students calling for the murder of Jews.
When they claim the protests at @Columbia University are peaceful, show them this video.

The coward with the covered face holds a sign that reads: "Al-Qasam's Next Targets" with an arrow pointing to students holding Israeli and American flags.

"For the love of God," Rowe declared, "Expel them." "Calling for murder is not protected speech," he said.
A simple thought. Basic moral clarity. Yet, the Ivy League leadership seems to lack the ability to think clearly. That's part of the problem with being captured by liberalism — when faced with wrong, when faced with evil, you have no discernment.
Rowe also noted that the careers that his foundation was training people to do "cannot be taught, or performed, remotely" in a shot at Columbia. He said they accept donations, and he dropped the website where you could donate or apply for a scholarship at http://mikeroweWORKS.org.
Rowe promotes a real education that benefits America and any young person who decides to pursue it. We need more people in these fields as older workers retire. When you compare that to the present-day indoctrination kids are getting at colleges, it looks mighty attractive.
