The border is in total crisis under Joe Biden.
The CBP had a record number of encounters last month with more than 300,000 illegal aliens coming in and that's not even counting the "gotaways" — the people they never encounter but who nonetheless make their way in.
How bad is it? Not only aren't they stemming the tide, but you get scenes where the CBP are using forklifts to lift the razor wire to let in the mass entry of illegal aliens. You can see that here on X.
Texas is trying to fight back, declaring their right to defend their state. Meanwhile, some Democrats are even urging Joe Biden to federalize the Texas National Guard.

It's a mess and what it shows is the Biden team's focus on not just refusing to enforce the law but physically helping illegal aliens to come in and upset any efforts to stop them.
But what are Democrats doing about this untenable situation? Except for a few notable exceptions like Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), not much.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) who is running for Senate posted a statement on X that our friends at Twitchy found. It had everyone talking.
My grandfather immigrated here. My great grandparents immigrated here.

My family came fleeing the Holocaust, in search of the American dream.
So many families come here fleeing violence and seeking a new life today. We must approach them with compassion. pic.twitter.com/HWBliEwtO3
This is just factually deceptive — most of the people entering are coming in for economic reasons, not because they are "fleeing violence." It's misleading to suggest otherwise as he does here. You can see he's playing some language games here to make people think he cares about the issue. But it's gross when he plays this game, particularly when he cites the Holocaust when most of the people are not fleeing a Holocaust.
Some also pointed out how his mother and father were both born here, as was his maternal grandfather. So it doesn't look like the immediate family fled the Holocaust. He has mentioned in the past that extended family fled the Holocaust.
But I'm willing to bet that his family didn't enter illegally. And that's the thing: If you have a valid asylum claim, we have procedures by which you can apply for legal entry. They should be improved, but he acts like there isn't anything. What we need to do in addition to securing the border is improve the legal entry process so we're facilitating the process for people doing it right, not speeding the process of entry for people entering illegally as Democrats seem to want to do.
This isn't the first time that Schiff has spread misleading information about the border. He spread the false story about Texas officials supposedly preventing the CBP from saving illegal aliens, who were drowning near Eagle Pass while trying to enter Texas illegally, and had it up for some time even after it had been roundly debunked. Indeed, the tweet wasn't taken down until after I wrote about it.
California, you deserve much much better than Adam Schiff.
