I have to say one of my favorite people in the Biden Administration for saying utterly absurd things is former Black Rock executive and current National Economic Council Director Brian Deese.
Now, admittedly, there are a lot of candidates including White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and indeed, Joe Biden himself.
But Deese does seem to have a special skill for it. It was Deese who said, back in September, that inflation wasn’t all that bad — if you didn’t count the high cost of meat. Um, except for the fact that most of us are buying and eating meat? Of course, they don’t want us to be eating meat, so this serves that point. Then he said that the spike in inflation meant that we needed to spend more. That even had the CNBC interviewer raising questions.
However, Deese stepped in it big time when he said that Americans should put up with the high gas prices that he blamed on Vladimir Putin for as long as it takes because it was necessary for the “liberal world order.”
CNN asks WH's Brian Deese what he'd tell Americans who can't afford to pay high gas prices for months/years if military analysts project the Russia-Ukraine war to go so long

On Monday, he truly took the cake for pushing the absurd. He seemed to be arguing the Biden Administration was saving us money on gas because the prices have gone down about fifty cents.
Biden economic advisor Brian Deese claims consumers are saving "$50 a month" on gas.
By his logic, Americans are spending more than $200 more per month on gas than when Biden took office. pic.twitter.com/NULdVZxLpD

So, while gas prices have risen significantly since Joe Biden took office — due to his horrid policies — they now want to take credit because they dropped 50 cents over the past month?

I don’t think so. The prices are dropping because the demand is dropping, according to Reuters. No credit to Joe Biden for anything. Do they expect us to fall for this? They want credit for gas dropping fifty cents when it went up $2.64 since he came in, all the way up over $5.00? Biden wants credit for the drop but wants to blame Vladimir Putin for the rise even though it began long before Putin invaded Ukraine.
This also tells us something about what the Biden team will try to sell us as “savings.” It was $2.38 before he came in. It’s now $4.49, according to Gas Buddy. So it’s still $2.11 higher than it was when Biden started.
Biden himself echoed Deese’s claim about saving 50 cents.
Gas prices have been dropping for 34 days straight, about 50 cents a gallon. That saves the average driver about $25 a month.
I know those extra dollars and cents mean something. It's breathing room. And we're not done working to get prices even lower.

So by the Biden count, he’s costing us more than $100 a month more — and that’s just the gas. Other counts estimate it as even higher than that.
Gas prices are up over $2 a gallon since he took office.
So if a decline of 50 cents means the average driver saves $25, by Biden's logic, the #BidenGasHike is costing drivers $100 more per month than when he took office. https://t.co/QNAMd80DkG

That’s not even counting everything else that has gone up with Bidenflation. So it shows us how much Biden has been costing us, according to his own words.
