Democrats are doing all they can to throw in the emotional appeal in the impeachment trial against President Donald Trump.

However, the big thing that’s missing is actually proving incitement from Trump’s Jan. 6 speech, as the impeachment article charge claims, when the FBI has said it was instigated by folks pre-planning it and Trump told protesters at his rally to act “peacefully and patriotically.”

Meanwhile, there’s a whole history of the way that the Democrats have encouraged violence against Trump officials/politicians such as Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) telling people to “create a crowd” “get up in their faces” and “push back.” Indeed, the day after her remarks on June 25, 2018, some people did just that in the face of Sec. Elaine Chao and her husband, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) trying to harass them as they tried to leave a campus going to their car.

So, perhaps it was a bit of an error for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to have appointed Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) as an impeachment manager. Not only because of his relationship with the Chinese spy but because of a little bit of history he may have forgotten.

First, let’s check how he treated the threats to Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) on her vote over Justice Brett Kavanaugh in September 2018. If you recall, she received a lot of death threats, as did her staff, because she was considered a critical swing vote. She was even sent white powder that had to be investigated by federal authorities. Indeed, other GOP politicians were being harassed and accosted, as well, because of the very high rhetoric of the Democrats.

Swalwell’s response? Boo hoo hoo, suck it up, Susan Collins. “You’re a senator who police will protect. A sexual assault victim can’t sleep in her home tonight because of threats. Where are you sleeping?”

The Collins team got suspicious substances in the mail, hangers, junior staffers threatened with rape and violence, and her home doxxed.

Talk about catty and nasty. He later deleted the tweet and apologized.

Imagine if any Republican politician had said anything even close to that over New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez’s story where she was never actually under any in-person threat from rioters. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) just clarified that there were no rioters in their mutual hallway and AOC and her adherents in media, like Jake Tapper, blew a gasket, accusing Mace of lying by declaring that simple truth.

Not to mention that 11 days before that Swalwell tweet about Susan Collins, a man allegedly tried to stab Swalwell’s Republican opponent, Rudy Peters, allegedly shouting disparaging remarks about the Republican Party and President Donald Trump. Fortunately, the attack failed because of a malfunctioning switchblade. Swalwell condemned that violence but that didn’t change the vitriol or the high rhetoric Democrats continued to use against Republicans, demonizing them and whipping up anger against them, as we later saw with the continuing crazy surrounding Kavanaugh and then since.

Maybe instead of trying to make political moves against their opponents like this trial, they should clean their own house and stop their own vitriolic language?
