Here’s one more question regarding that “best buddy” relationship of Barack Obama and his former Vice President, Joe Biden.

Barack Obama has reportedly been meeting with big Democratic bundlers telling them that they should feel secure backing Elizabeth Warren if she becomes the nominee.

Obama has said officially he is not endorsing anyone, but he apparently wants to assure them that they can get behind Warren.

Warren has left many of the donors cold and worried, given her bashing of the rich and the donor class.

From Fox News:

In response, one Obama ally told The Hill that the former president is trying to “rally the troops,” particularly in the financial services industry.

Obama has refused to endorse any candidate in the Democratic primary race, which includes his former Vice President Joe Biden. However, in private meetings, he has talked up Warren and made it clear he views her as a formidable and capable candidate.

“He obviously thinks she’s very smart,” one Democratic donor said. “He thinks her policy ideas matter. And I think he sees her running the campaign with the most depth.”

“He appreciates her intellect and is impressed by the campaign she’s run,” a former Obama aide told The Hill. “If anything, she has the most substantive achievements from his time in the White House. And he’s someone who can talk at length about her accolades.”

More than 200 lower- and mid-level Obama staffers who worked on his presidential campaigns and in his administration came out in support of Warren last week.

But she hasn’t gotten bigger names in the Obama orbit, like John Kerry, who is backing Joe Biden.

Warren has had her own issues after she bashed Mayor Pete Buttigieg over “wine cave” fundraisers during the debate and then was found to have had her own big donor wine fundraiser event.

Last week, Obama talked up having women as leaders rather than “old men” in a speech that had some wondering who he was talking about.

From The Hill:

“If you look at the world and look at the problems, it’s usually old people, usually old men, not getting out of the way,” he said.

Asked about the comment at the debate, Biden said that Obama wasn’t talking about him.
