Alyssa Milano: Please Join Me in Chanting to Make Trump Go Away

On Oct. 15, 2017, Milano urged the Twittersphere to join her in sharing a personal story of sexual harassment in the wake of rape allegations against Harvey Weinstein. The response was immediate and overwhelming, and touched off a cultural movement that has shed light on the pervasiveness of sexual harassment, assault and violence against women across all industries, building on work started over a decade earlier by activist Tarana Burke. Actress and rabid anti-Trumper Alyssa Milano used to be on a show called “Charmed” where she played a witch.

Now, I’m not sure if she’s seeking to employ any of that experience, but she surely got a reaction with what she tweeted on Sunday.

She got a predictable response and some folks had a lot of fun with it.

There is a little truth there.

While Donald Trump did manifest positive thought to achieve his goals, he didn’t get elected because he chanted for seven minutes a day, he did marry the positive thought with action when many didn’t think he had a chance.

The difference? He worked to achieve it, with policy proposals that resonated with people while the Democratic candidate was basically saying just vote for me. He didn’t just chant or have the right “feels” like Alyssa.

Once in, he’s also worked assiduously away, helping to achieve a booming economy and delivering on promises like getting a record number of conservative judges sworn in with lifetime tenure.

That’s why he was elected, that’s why he’s still there and that’s why he’s likely to get re-elected. That “trumps” Alyssa’s seven minute chant.
