The headline says it all. "The View" co-host Sunny Hostin doing what she does best: race-hustling herself silly — as ridiculously as possible. Welp, it gets worse — bizarrely so. During Thursday's episode of "The View" — the most pathetic talk show on TV — Hostin tore into GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley.
Again.
Hostin snivelingly suggested that the only reason people support Haley — “especially women” — is because she's a woman. The irony couldn't be more profound — particularly coming from Sunny Hostin of all people. The hypocritical woman's life is all — and only — about identity politics.
From Biden's cabinet members to his nomination to the Supreme Court: Are they black? "Check," says Hostin. Black females? Even better, per Sunny. Three words: Ketanji Brown Jackson. Sunny, please.
Here's the 'Gets Worse' Part
While the ladies were discussing Wednesday night's Republican presidential primary debate in Iowa, Hostin declared, without evidence, that Haley supporters backed her for United Nations ambassador during the Trump administration because she was a woman — and moaned that they didn't support Hillary Clinton for the same reason.
Then, this (emphasis, mine):
I don't understand why everyone is backing Nikki Haley, especially women. I remember when Hillary Clinton was running, there was a lot of talk about ‘I don't vote for someone just because she has a vagina.’ Well, last I checked, Nikki Haley has one too.
Um? Joy Behar had the same thought I had: "What do you mean, the last you checked?!"
Hostin continued:
Nikki Haley has said that she will sign a national ban, a federal ban for — against abortion. Even though — and I think she's saying that to sort of talk — talk to the MAGA base and bottom line, she knows that legislation won't pass.
Token (pretend) Republican co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin pushed back against Hostin's assertion, saying she hadn't "heard a single person ... say they were supporting her because she was a woman."
"We don't do identity politics, as much," she added.
"Oh, yes you do," Hostin shot back.
Farah Griffin insisted: "I don’t. I literally never said it’s because she’s a woman."
"Yeah, but your party does," Hostin retorted.
And of course, no episode of "The View" would be complete without a healthy dose of Trump-bashing. Whoopi Goldberg kicked that off:
No one has voted. No one is uninformed about Biden. They know about Biden. They know about bonehead. We don't know — we don't know what people are going to do. People have from now until then to say, on Monday they'll say, 'Well, I'm going to do this,' and Tuesday they say, 'No, no.' Wednesday, 'I'll vote like my husband votes or they'll say — We've seen this. We've seen this. We don't know, and that's part of what’s fueling all of this because we want it to be over.' — And it's not going to be and it shouldn't be over like that.
Garbage? You bet.
Now in its 27th season, "The View" averaged 2.375 million viewers per episode in season 26, making it the top daytime talk show or news show. This is the third year in a row the show has maintained its No. 1 position.
I gotta quote George Carlin, again: "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups."
We now return you to sanity.
