Other than Joe Biden, who tried for more than 32 years to become president of the United States before finally achieving his goal, I am unaware of a less qualified political candidate in America who more wants to win than Stacey Abrams, who desperately wants to become the next governor of Georgia.

“Again,” in her delusional mind.

Abrams, who failed in her 2018 gubernatorial election bid when she lost to Republican Brian Kemp not only failed to concede; on the contrary, she still insists she won. (I can think of two politicians with the same affliction in the last six years, but that would be digressing.)

Abrams’s 2018 loss to Kemp was close — and now, having won their respective primaries, the 2022 rematch promises more of the same; Kemp held a five-point margin in a late May Real Clear Politics poll.

Needless to say, the gloves are already off, on both sides.

Kemp, on Wednesday, released a blistering campaign ad in which he included video of Abrams, “in her own words,” agreeing in principle with defunding America’s police departments.

As Governor, I will continue to fight to give our law enforcement the resources they need to keep Georgia families safe.

Abrams was coaxed into the admission by CNN’s Alisyn Camerota, but she made it just the same.

Abrams is also on a board that supports defunding and abolishing the police. However, she continues to argue that the Defund discussion is a “false choice idea.”

I think we’re being drawn into this false choice idea. The reality is we need two things …We’ll use different language to describe it, but, fundamentally, we must have reformation and transformation.

How do I put this tactfully? What the hell does that mean? Other than typical Democrat double-speak? Abrams made similar comments to ABC “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos in June 2020.

That was then, this is now. With violent crime soaring across America and no end in sight, Abrams appears to have changed her tune. “Coincidentally,” on the very next day after Kemp’s campaign ad was released. “Now,” says Abrams, “law enforcement [officers] are often paid less than a living wage, and that is wrong.”

Wait — wut? Abrams went on to call for a pay raise for cops.

That wasn’t nebulous as hell at all, right?

Abrams, having fully “evolved” — Democrats always “evolve”; they never flip-flop — continued to pour it on.

Law enforcement in urban, suburban, and rural areas across Georgia struggle with staffing shortages that put communities at risk.

Higher officer pay will lead to better officer recruitment, better officer retention, better community interactions, and a safer Georgia.

Who is this woman and what did she do with Stacey Abrams?

And what is Abrams’s plan?

Raise base salary for state officers to $50k/year. [What about city police in urban areas where violent crime flourishes, Ms. Abrams?]

Provide grants to localities to support increased salary [sic] for local law enforcement. [What are the specifics and what are grant monies tied to?]

Secure mental health support for law enforcement. [What about mental health support that helps take wackos off our streets, when possible, before they go full-metal crazy and commit horrific crimes?]

Invest [taxpayer-funded] in expanded training collaborative support. [Collaborative support with whom or what entities?]

Again, few specifics, mostly rhetoric — in an election year. Go figure.

Here’s how I plan to do this:

It’s hard to see Abrams’s latest flip-flop helping her cause or that of the Democrat Party as a whole. As my RedState colleague Sister Toldjah said in March, Stacey Abrams Has Become an Albatross for Democrats.

Then again, Joe Biden and the entire Democrat Party have become an albatross unto themselves.
