Sheryl Crow Is Virtue Signaling Again in Her Fight Against Republicans - This One Is Hilarious (Updated)

Sheryl Crow attempted to win liberal points by touting her daily activism against Republicans. However, there’s just one problem: It’s looking like it's not exactly true.

During a cover story for Variety magazine’s “Power of Women: Nashville,” the 63-year-old singer talked about the challenges of being a liberal living in Tennessee, where she said every day she calls her representatives, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Ten) and U.S. Representative Andy Ogles (R-Ten) to make her voice be heard.

“Tennessee is a hard place for me,” Crow said. “I mean, I struggle. I call my representatives [in Congress] every single morning — Andy Ogles and Marsha Blackburn hear from me every day — because we have to stand up and be vocal and fight for the future for our kids.”

When the interviewer pressed the singer on her comments, Crow appeared to double down and affirmed that every day, Ogles and Blackburn’s offices get voicemail messages from her.

“I do think, ’Are they laughing?’ But it’s like what Jimmy Carter said: As long as there’s legal bribery, we won’t ever have fair elections,” the “Real Gone” hitmaker said.

“So we have to keep raising our voices and showing up to these organized rallies,” she added.

However, in response to the Variety piece, Grant Henry, Chief of Staff in the U.S. House of Representatives, said Crow had only called a handful of times.

“Ms. Crow has contacted us only five times since January; however, we would absolutely relish the opportunity to speak with her daily,” Henry’s post on X read. “Not only is she an icon in the music industry, but she also has a tremendously influential voice in Nashville and across the broader Tennessee community.”

“Her platform gives her access to perspectives we might not otherwise encounter, and her continued insights would be invaluable to us,” he added.

RedState has reached out to both Blackburn's and Ogles' offices, but as of the time of publication, there has been no confirmation from either office as to how many times the singer might have called them.

Speaking to Variety, Crow also reacted to the backlash against her after she posted a video selling her Tesla, joining with other liberals in their virtue-signaling protest against Elon Musk’s efforts with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), as RedState reported.

“This feels different, because when I came out against Walmart carrying guns [in a 1996 song], not everybody was armed — and certainly I didn’t live in Tennessee, where everybody is armed,” Crow said. “So yeah, there was a moment where I actually really felt very afraid: A man got on my property, in my barn, who was armed. It doesn’t feel safe when you’re dealing with people who are so committed.”

“I feel like I’m fighting for my kid,” she added. “Also, that’s the way I was raised. There have been times when it hasn’t really been fun, but I follow my Atticus Finch dad; I’m very similar to him if I see something that seems unfair, you know?”

In the February post, Crow said she was selling her Tesla and donating the proceeds to NPR, which was “under threat” by “President Musk.”

“My parents always said... you are who you hang out with,” the singer’s post read. “There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla. Money donated to NPR, which is under threat by President Musk, in hopes that the truth will continue to find its way to those willing to know the truth.”

Update - 11:10 p.m. Eastern:

As indicated above, RedState reached out to Rep. Ogles' office for confirmation as to Crow's communications with his office. Grant Henry, whose tweet is cited, confirmed that he is the Chief of Staff for Rep. Ogles and provided the following statement:

“After reviewing our records using the contact information we have on file associated with Ms. Crow, we found that she has contacted our office five times in 2025. Her most recent outreach was on March 20, 2025, at 11:44 AM—a moment our team recalls vividly. Many of us are avid fans of country and pop music, and the staff was absolutely thrilled to speak directly with an icon in the industry. We love her music.

"During that call, Ms. Crow expressed concerns regarding actions taken that might impact the Department of Education. We had a thoughtful and respectful conversation with her, documented her concerns in detail, and Congressman Ogles sent a formal response through his official office the following day.

"Although we have only had the opportunity to interact with her about once a month, we would relish the opportunity to hear from her every single day. She is not only a rock legend but also a tremendously influential voice for Nashville and the broader Tennessee community. Her platform gives her access to perspectives we might not otherwise encounter, and her continued insights would be invaluable to us.

"If anyone at your publication happens to know Ms. Crow personally, I would be more than happy to share my personal contact information with her. It’d be fantastic to build a relationship with Sheryl Crow.”
