Some of the most pathetic people are fans of professional sports teams. “Fan” is the abbreviation for fanatic. It often fits. I remember going to an LA Raiders vs. Denver Broncos game. Walking to the Los Angeles Coliseum, Raiders fans were taunting and insulting people (including children) who were wearing any merchandise that IDed them as Denver fans. During the game we saw two fights in the stands.  

In 2011, a San Francisco fan was in Los Angeles for a Giants vs. Dodgers game. After the game, his life was ruined. Brian Stow was beaten into a coma and when he finally woke, he was brain-damaged. A shell of what he had been. The two cowards who beat him, Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood, were unapologetic. They were sorry - sorry they got caught. The sentencing judge rightfully called the pair a couple of "cowards." One said in a jailhouse admission: 

"I socked him, jumped him and started beating him," a transcript of the conversation quoted Sanchez as saying. He also apologized to Norwood for dragging him into the fight. 

"That happens, bro," said Norwood. "I mean, what kind of man would I have been if I hadn't jumped in and tried to help you."

What kind of a man? You aren’t a man, you’re a coward. Both were sentenced to long prison terms. Stow was sentenced to a life of despair. Brain-damaged and unable to take care of himself because he had the “temerity” to wear Giants gear. Stow lost his ability to do just about anything on his own because two lowlifes were “fans” of the Dodgers.  

No professional team wants “fans” like that. The other point for people like Norwood and Sanchez is that the Dodgers really never cared about them. Fans are a revenue stream. Nothing more. Professional teams are in the business of collecting the money fans pour into them. Having an allegiance to a sports team and resorting to violence for that team is the most nonsensical thing I can think of. It’s insanity.  

Last Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens played the Washington Commanders at home. The Ravens won the game. Fans then poured out on the street. And two “fanatics,” aka nutcases, went roaming the streets of Baltimore looking to hurt someone. They found two men wearing Commander uniforms. Here is the video:

In the case of Brian Stow, the cowards who beat him and left him in a coma didn't video their crime, but in Baltimore, they did. And proudly posted it to social media. The lead guy is allegedly “Jack Callis” because multiple people in the area immediately recognized him.

Mr. Callis (apparently) has a long history of being a miserable human being. Callis has lost his job(s).

Unless Callis has an identical twin, he is, allegedly, the coward who knocked out one man and beat the other simply for wearing a Commanders uniform. If convicted Callis will spend time in prison. The videographer is a miserable human being as well.  

The alleged assailant coward is seen after beating the two fans for wearing the "wrong" jersey, saying: "I don't lose!”  

Yeah, you kind of do, you coward.  You are about to lose a lot. You lost your job. You will lose your freedom, and with it, you will lose a bunch of rights, including your right to own a firearm and to vote.  

Imagine being this invested in a team (that doesn’t know you or care about you) that you turn into a street thug for that team.
