White House Spokes-liar Josh Earnest was asked a question about Donald Trump’s suggestion that the candidates take a drug test prior to the next debate.  He made an attempt at humor that failed miserably.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Earnest was asked to comment on the Republican nominee’s suggestion that Hillary Clinton be drug tested prior to Wednesday’s final presidential debate.

“The candidate who snorted his way through the first two debates is accusing the other candidate of taking drugs?” Earnest said.

The press responded with awkward silence.

It got even more awkward after that. One reporter unaware that Earnest was trying to be funny asked a follow up question.

REPORTER: Are you saying just now that you think that the sniffling or snorting as you described it might have been related to…?

EARNEST: Not at all.

REPORTER: So…what were you saying? What were you trying to get across when you said that?

EARNEST: Just trying to have a little fun.

Very little.
