The following is satire and not to be taken as factual.
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) recently gave an impromptu speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. in anticipation of her potential new role as Joe Biden’s vice president. It was a rousing oration worthy of notable civil rights leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. Most importantly, it was completely original and off the cuff, the type of rendition that would put former President Barack Obama to shame.
“I have a dweam today Amewica, a dweam that black people and other minowities will no longer have to suffer under the oppwessive yoke of capitalism,” she began.
The senator waxed eloquent about the plight that many people of color face due to lack of government involvement. “I envision a world in which minowities can achieve the level of success they deserve despite skin color. Under our administwation, we will use the full might of the state to make sure black people, especially, will finally be able to realize the Amewican dweam.”
During her speech, Harris touched on the issue of police brutality, explaining that under Biden, the issue will be eliminated altogether. “I’ve always been fond of saying that “injustice anywhere is a thweat to justice evewywhere. We will bring about an Amewica in which black people do not have to fear their police officers.”
The crowd cheered as Sen. Harris talked about ensuring freedom and success for black Americans through far-left policies like the Green New Deal. “Like I’ve always said in the past, we are going to fundamentally change America and usher in a new age of pwospewity. I have a dweam today!”
But the audience roared its approval as Harris crescendoed to her great finish which was reminiscent of that old-time religion as she promised unity among all Americans regardless of their backgrounds. She intoned:
“When we let fweedom wing, when we let it wing from evewy village and evewy hamlet, from evewy state and evewy city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s childwen, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Pwotestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negwo spiritual, ‘Fwee at last! Fwee at last! Thank God Almighty, we are fwee at last!’”
It was a speech worthy for the history books and yet another reminder demonstrating why she deserves to become the next president – er, vice pwesident.
