They must defund Obamacare. If they fund it, they own it.The Speaker of the House of Representatives, John Boehner, and the Republican Leader in the United States Senate, Mitch McConnell, want you to know they will never, ever, ever shut down the Federal Government. They think it is irresponsible. They think the GOP will never ever win a fight and get all the blame for a government shutdown. So it is not happening.But by God they want you to believe they’re going to draw a line in the sand on the debt ceiling. Oh, and they think they can delay Obamacare’s implementation. There’s a sucker born every minute and they’re hoping Barack Obama and the American people are suckers.One cannot broadcast the terms of their surrender and then begin negotiating from a position of strength. Is it any wonder the GOP finds itself tripping over its own feet.The beltway Republicans have convened a circle of jerks to tell us defunding Obamacare is not an option, but delaying Obamacare is. Pay no attention to the fact that they won’t engage in brinksmanship that might cause a government shutdown.They actually think they can get Obamacare delayed, but cannot defund it. They believe the same Senate of the United States that would refuse a defund effort will agree to a delay effort and they believe the same President of the United States who would veto a defund effort would not veto a delay effort.In fact, they have no plan. A delay of Obamacare, would not delay the bureaucracy from setting up means and methods to make repeal harder. A delay would not stop the bureaucracy from issuing new regulations in anticipation of Obamacare.Only defunding Obamacare will stop the bureaucracy and stop Obamacare. Everything else is just negotiating surrender on the Democrats’ terms. Defunding Obamacare is the actual only viable way to stop Obamacare at this time. And the strategy, articulated by Senator Ted Cruz at the RedState Gathering, is really simple — Just. Don’t. Blink.Right now, Jim DeMint, Heritage Action for America, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and a number of Congressmen are out in the field trying to educate the public about the fight and get Republicans to do the right thing.Boehner, McConnell, and the rest are tripping all over themselves to negotiate with shadows and pre-surrender before the fighting has even begun.
