There is just no stopping the Republican primary voters choice to be the GOP’s “presumptive nominee.” Donald Trump, who systematically eliminated all sixteen the most talented field of Republican presidential candidates ever seen, and who claims he can be presidential and also says he is a unifier, just wont quit. Like that stupid bunny in the battery ads, Trump goes on and on. Even after he was deemed the presumptive nominee by the Chairman of the RNC.

Sure Trump was magnanimous last night after Sen. Ted Cruz surprised the Donald and suspended his presidential campaign — thereby ceding the nomination to trump. You would think the victorious Donald would start the rest of his presidential campaign by being, well more presidential, than the amoral, misogynistic and lying candidate he has been. You might think that, but you would be wrong.

GOP Presumptive nominee Trump started the first day of this new phase of the 2016 presidential campaign with a call in interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on “Good Morning America.” Please note that calling in such “appearances” is a privilege not normally granted to politicians, but the billionaire is treated as special — receiving nearly $2 billion in free television time and allowed call it in. According to Politico, during this call in Interview, “Trump again links Rafael Cruz to JFK’s killer.” Asked if he thought he owed Rafael Cruz an apology Trump quickly reverted to his familial attack against Rafael Cruz and returned to the National Enquirer’s conspiracy theory that shamelessly links Ted Cruz’ father to the assassination of President Kennedy.

“All I was doing was referring to a picture that was reported and in a magazine and I think they didn’t deny it,” Trump said Wednesday during a phone interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “I don’t think anybody denied it. I don’t know what it was exactly, but it was a major story in a major publication and it was picked up by many other publications.”

Trump argued that the tabloid has “brought many things to light” and insisted that all he did was allude to the cover story.

“You know, the father was very active in the campaign. He said some very nasty things about me in the morning,” Trump said Wednesday. “You know that. And it was reported. It wasn’t nice what he said about me. And I just referred him to articles that were in various periodicals.”

Trump started this nonsense Tuesday, during an interview on Fox News, when he said:

And you know, his father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald being… you know—shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous. What is this? And nobody even brings it up. They don’t even talk about it. And that was reported, and nobody talks about it.

… I mean, what was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death? Before the shooting? It’s horrible.

That resulted in Cruz dismissing Trump’s outrageous claims, mocking Trump for bringing up “tabloid trash,” pointing out that the Enquirer has now been used twice by Trump to attack his family and that the tabloid’s CEO is a Trump backer, and then going on to tell us what he really thinks about the Donald.

Why would the new “presumptive nominee” engage in such not-more-presidential, non-unifying behavior? There are two possibilities. This is either more senility — the age-related cognitive impairment we have reported about here and here. Or it could be the result of Trump’s association with the ever controversial Roger Stone. Stone served as an advisor to Trump’s presidential campaign until August 2015 but remains a Trump confidante. Stone allegedly confirmed to Mediaite that Rafael Cruz was tied to the Kennedy assassination.
