Remember January 6? I barely do. It was definitely an infamous moment in American history, but not nearly on par with its darker moments. In fact, it was far less destructive than any given Antifa riot. Entire towns go up in flames when the left riots. The supposed "insurrection" that happened on January 6 hardly met the level of destruction the left achieves when they get going.
Have you ever seen an insurrection that obeyed the velvet rope lines inside the building they were trying to overtake?
However, while you and I might forget that January 6 was even a thing, the left apparently thinks about it all the time. Like overdramatic tragedians, they fall to their knees and proclaim that this was just like 9-11, you know, when 3,000 people died as a result of a terrorist attack.
The only person who died on January 6 was an unarmed woman who was shot by capitol police, Ashli Babbitt, a murder that was so unnecessary that it resulted in FOIA requests and wrongful death lawsuits.
The obsession is easy to understand once you realize it was all just a vehicle to complicate or even stop Donald Trump's path back to the White House. I'm not sure if even the left believes it as much as they professed to, at least at first. Now, I'm not so sure.
I think, at this point, they've convinced themselves that January 6 really was a day that will live in infamy, and matches up to some of the most devastating attacks on America, equaling moments like Pearl Harbor. This has caused them to put more importance on its relevance to the 2024 election than there actually is.
Stephen Hayes of The Dispatch noted that while J.D. Vance might have won the VP debate, his answer about January 6 was "disqualifying."
"Vance clearly won the first 90 minutes of the debate," he posted to X. "Turns out Kumbaya JD is more likable than Bronze Aged Pervert JD. But Vance's answer on January 6th was utter bullshit. He can't admit Trump lost in 2020 and he's said he would have seated fake electors. Disqualifying."
Disqualifying to whom? This guy below, apparently.
On this panel of "undecided" voters on CNN, one man said that he'd now be voting for Kamala Harris because he also didn't like Vance's response about January 6 and the fact that Vance wouldn't say if Trump won the 2020 election.

Look at this tool. He says he's voting for Kamala now because of Vance's answer on January 6th.
Imagine claiming that's what made you decide to vote for Kamala instead of Trump.đŸ¤¡ pic.twitter.com/oUA48grlSF
Look, I don't want to stereotype... but there's no way this guy didn't already have his mind made up on who he was voting for. Guaranteed, there's a post or two on his social media about it being "time for a woman president," but I digress.
The thing that makes me truly think he was a Harris voter was the simple fact that the guy lives in the same economy we do, experiences the same inflation... and he's still putting importance on January 6 and the validity of the 2020 election?
Give me a break. He either has daddy paying all of his bills, or he's an activist posing as an independent voter. Money on the latter.
Let's look at the numbers.
According to Pew Research, 81 percent of voters are concerned about the economy. This is usually the most impactful issue in every election, and many people vote based on a candidate's perceived competency toward the issue.
Where does January 6 rank on these list of issues?
I couldn't tell you. It's not listed on the top list of concerns people have going into the 2024 election.
As I write this, leftists on X are going nuts over Vance's answer on January 6... but no one else is. It's a total obsession that only the left seems to have.
And I think that obsession has clouded their vision. In their fixation, they've inadvertently convinced themselves that everyone else cares about it too. That this is one of the biggest deals and that it should play a part in the decision-making for voters this election. Ignore the fact that you're paying unbelievable amounts of money with every bill, fill-up, and grocery trip. January 6 is all the information you need about who you should vote for.
Democracy is at stake!
Well, we're not a Democracy, Trump wasn't responsible for January 6, and it's hard to care about the pearl clutching of Democrats after they ruined our economy, opened the border, handcuffed law enforcement, and make constant attempts to erode our rights.
The left is delusional. We all knew that, but this delusion over January 6 is one of the biggest ones.
