YouTuber and live streamer Keanu Thompson was in the midst of a nearly seven-hour stream when shots rang out nearby, sending the streamer seeking cover on the floor. The terrifying moment has since become viral. 

Thompson, an increasingly popular stand-up comic who is good friends with conservative comedian Chrissie Mayer, was in the midst of her KeanuCast stream in her NYC studio where she was taking viewer phone calls. As she hung up with one of them, six shots immediately rang out -- causing Thompson to freeze and stare toward the direction of the noise. 

Thompson, clearly in shock, began to back away from the nearby window. At one point, there was a lull and what sounded like muffled shouting could be heard from outside. Soon after, three more shots could be heard, sending Thompson to the floor to hide. 

As Thompson came out from below her desk, a scream could be heard in the distance. 

"I'm not sure what's happening," stammered Thompson, as she sank back below her desk.

As the stream continued, more yelling and screaming could be heard. Thompson answered a call from her fiance Geno Bisconte, where she begged to be picked up but refused to end the stream, figuring that it may end up being evidence for the police. 

Eventually, the police arrived and Thompson took a look outside the window, noticing a puddle of blood sending her into panicked sobs. 

Eventually, she called a friend who was nearby to confirm everyone's safety and learned that a fight had broken out. According to the New York Post, the shooting Thompson heard right outside her window began between two couples, who started a fistfight that eventually led to the shooting. Thankfully, the shooting ended in no fatalities but the shooter is still at large, as of this writing: 

A 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were leaving Iggy’s bar around 2:49 a.m. when they got into a verbal spat with another pair, which quickly took a violent turn, an NYPD spokesperson told The Post.

Another man pulled out a gun and fired 7 times, striking the 32-year-old victim in the left leg. His date also suffered a cut to her face in the melee, according to the police.

The injured couple were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where the man was listed in stable condition.

The suspects in the shooting had fled on foot before cops arrived. The accused gunman was described as a man in his 30s dressed in all black.

“I heard screaming, like, ‘no, no no,'” Thompson told the Post. “I literally thought, I don’t know, either end of days or some really horrifying fight.”

Thankfully, no one died during the shooting, and Thompson is already retweeting jokes about the moment on her X account.
