Homelessness and drug addiction have become serious problems in the United States and nowhere are these issues seen more than in Democrat-controlled areas.
Among the worst of these are Los Angeles and San Francisco, two Smurf-blue cities within the Smurf-blue state of California. The drug-addicted homeless issue in those cities is so bad that daily clips can be seen that show these areas looking like third-world countries.
Tent cities, homeless people passed out on sidewalks, and piles of garbage and refuse infect miles of the cityscape and yet these city leaders, not only do nothing to help, but also push “solutions” that only enable more of it. This has created a sense of desperation among residents who no longer can live and work in peace.

One such man is Collier Gwin, a man who has lived in San Francisco for 45 years. Gwin runs an art gallery on Montgomery Street in Jackson Square according to KPIX-TV, but customers have more or less abandoned the area because of the horrendous homeless problem.
One day, Gwin came to his wit’s end. Since the city had failed to curb the homeless issue, the owner took matters into his own hands. In a desperate fit of anger, he went outside, turned on a hose, and began spraying a homeless woman who had been camping outside of his gallery for days with the goal of getting her to move. This was captured by a nearby store owner who posted it to TikTok, and now Gwin is the target of a ton of online vitriol.

KPIX-TV reported that Gwin sincerely regrets his actions but explained that had reached his limit with this particular woman since she was becoming a detriment to his livelihood and consistently trashing the area around his gallery. His solution with the hose was a desperation move after officials had refused to get the woman help:
He said this confrontation was the result of multiple attempts to get the woman help, after he spent days cleaning up her mess and letting her sleep in his doorway. He added that she often knocks over trash cans, and her behavior has scared off his clients.
Gwin said he and other business owners in the area have called SFPD and social services more than two dozen times in the last two weeks.
“I said she needs psychiatric help,” Gwin said. “You can tell, she’s pulling her hair, she’s screaming, she’s talking in tongues, you can’t understand anything she says, she’s throwing food everywhere.”
Naturally, online commenters are virtue signaling to no end about how inhumane and horrible this man is for his actions, yet this is all keyboard warrior gibberish. Many of these people have never, and may never be in this man’s situation. They’ll never look on as something they owned and built up is slowly destroyed because drug addicts infest the area, chasing off potential customers. They’ll never have to clean up the trash and toxic refuse they leave on their doorsteps.
It’s not Gwin who deserves the anger, it’s the Democrat politicians who sit in their well-guarded offices and homes, eating at high-end restaurants in the parts of town where the homeless problem is really cracked down on that deserve people’s anger. It’s these people who continue to exacerbate the problem with their backward policies that encourage homelessness and drug addiction.
Gwin is just as much a victim as that homeless woman is of these policies. While it’s unfortunate this incident happened, the blame for it doesn’t lie on Gwin, it lies with California’s politicians.
