Chief of the Department of Homeland Security revealed some shocking info on the number of potential terrorists that try to gain access to the United States in any given week.

According to the Washington Times, Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen revealed that the DHS prevents an average of seven people marked on the terrorist watch list a day, adding up to 50 people a week.

The numbers have Nielsen asking for more scrutiny on those looking to immigrate here as refugees, and defending President Trump’s comments on tougher screening for immigrants.

“These changes will not only improve security but importantly they will help us better assist refugees fleeing persecution,” she said.

She also believes that the border security Trump has proposed, such as the wall, is an integral part of keeping America safe.

“We cannot let this moment slip away. Now is the time,” she said. “We cannot afford to kick the can down the road any farther.”

Nielsen noted that many of the terrorist attacks dating back five years can be traced back to lax screening processes put in place by the Obama administration:

Ms. Nielsen said past administrations had not been as strenuous in attempting to weed out would-be terrorists as the current one, and pointed to a string of attacks dating back five years — to the heart of the Obama administration.

And she again cited a controversial administration report that found of more than 500 people convicted of terrorism-related crimes in U.S. courts since 2001, three-quarters were foreign-born.

That unmitigated immigration policies result in higher crime rates and attacks isn’t new. Germany’s migrant crisis has reached epidemic levels of bad and has grown by leaps and bounds, much of it stemming from migrants from the Middle East and North Africa.
