There appeared to be a theme of sorts this week with very prominent names facing varying degrees of career de-enhancement. The biggest obviously was the announcement that Brian Stelter was out of the chair at Reliable Sources, and out at the network. There were a variety of reactions, and we cataloged much of it.
This came on the heels of Tuesday’s primary result in Wyoming, where Liz Cheney was beaten so badly it felt almost like mistreatment. The real amusement was watching all of the media figures falling over themselves to heap praise on the woman as if she were a victor.
Then I cover the odd case of deep-thinking philosopher Sam Harris vocally proclaiming he supported the censoring of the Hunter Biden laptop story in order to keep Trump from winning reelection. His manner of explanation only managed to make things worse. Then just to close things out, CNN makes a pathetically hilarious attempt at gas-lighting…in the most literal sense.
Now crack one open and savor some media mayhem.
