Mainstream journalists gathered at the annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner on Saturday to pat themselves on the back and tut-tut over the press’ disgusting assistance in covering up Joe Biden’s mental decline. They of course pretended they had nothing to do with it, despite the fact that most of them spent the last four years lying to us.
I think it should go down as one of the great scandals in our history.
Neither President Donald Trump nor White House Press Secretary felt it was worth their time to attend, because the once bipartisan dinner has in recent years turned into a noxious progressive rage-fest where inside-the-beltway journos pretend to laugh but secretly hold venom in their hearts for anyone who doesn’t agree with them.
As if to prove the point, the Association presented the award for “EXCELLENCE IN PRESIDENTIAL NEWS COVERAGE BY VISUAL JOURNALISTS.” You know what photo they picked, right? One of the most iconic photos in American history, Donald Trump jumping up after an assassination attempt, pumping his fist as blood streamed down his face, and yelling “FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!” Right?
Wrong. No, instead they picked an unremarkable black-and-white shot of former President Biden—the president they covered for—shuffling off to who knows where. If there were legal punishments for journalism fails, those involved with this clown show would get life in prison without the possibility of parole.

But the photo of Biden was historic, you see, oh so historic, because he was “wrestling” with such huge problems. Not as big a problem as being shot by a sniper, but okay:
The WHCA award for presidential news coverage by visual journalists, which recognizes a video or photo journalist for uniquely covering the presidency at the White House or in the field went to Doug Mills of The New York Times for an image taken of former President Joe Biden as he wrestled with historic challenges, including international crises, amid calls for him to end his reelection campaign.
They at least gave the Trump photo honorable mention, right? Wrong again. They gave that to the Agence France-Presse for a photo of Elon Musk jumping in the air at a Trump rally. You gotta be kidding, right?
It is so utterly preposterous that it is a perfect distillation of everything wrong with our media.

Insular, driven by pique, willing to look like fools if it means not doing anything that might be to Trump’s benefit—but ultimately magnifying what they are trying to hide.
This isn’t even about Trump and whether you like him or don’t—I would call this a farce if the tables were turned and it was Joe Biden getting right back up after almost being killed, and the photo lost out to a snap of Donald Trump walking down the hall. It would be obviously ridiculous, just as it is in this case.
In 50 years, the Joe Biden photo will be long forgotten. The iconic Trump photo will be remembered for decades, if not longer.
You can’t hate the media enough.
