SICK: Pro-Hamas 'Demonstrators' Harass, Dox UC Regent, Demand He Stop Calling Oct. 7 Massacre 'Terrorism'

Townhall/Katie Pavlich

Pro-Hamas goons are doxing and harassing a University of California (UC) Regent Jonathan "Jay" Sures, showing up at his house to intimidate him because A) they don’t like an official letter he penned in October 2023 condemning the UC Ethnic Studies Council for their pro-Hamas sympathies, and B) He's Jewish.

It started in 2023: The Ethnic Studies Council wrote a missive—signed by 300 faculty members—that was an outraged wokefest demanding, among other ludicrous things, that the UC system stop referring to the October 7 Hamas massacre as “terrorism.” Unbelievable.

Sures clapped back and said he was “appalled” by their deranged take. Now he’s paying the price as the pro-terrorist mob is after him, according to West Coast Director at European Leadership Network (ELNET-US) Siamak Kordestani. He describes ELNET as “the premier organization strengthening relations between Europe and Israel based on shared democratic values and strategic interests.”

And what he reports is disturbing (profanity alert):

Here are the back-and-forth letters between Sures and the apparently pro-Hamas Ethnic Studies Council.

Following the savage Oct. 7 Hamas attack, we saw a striking rise in antisemitism in this country, especially at colleges and universities where faculty students and outside agitators threw violent demonstrations that lasted for months and left many Jewish students terrified to even walk around campus.

Donald Trump has taken a strong stand against antisemitism and has been in solid support of Israel, as he proved Tuesday when he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. He has also issued executive orders to combat the scourge, as I reported in late January:

[The antisemitism that erupted after Oct. 7] …was an embarrassment to our country.

Donald Trump noticed, and now that he is back as president, he’s taking action:

President Donald Trump ordered a law enforcement crackdown on antisemitism on college campuses, including removing pro-Hamas activists with student visas from the country, Fox News has learned.

Trump's directive gives all federal agencies a 60-day window to identify civil and criminal authorities available to combat antisemitism and deport anti-Jewish activists who broke any laws.

In other words, radical extremists—mess around, find out.

This disgusting behavior by the Ethnic Studies Council and the thugs harassing Sures should have no place in this country. Trump’s orders are a good place to start, but the rot needs to be cleaned out of the universities in order to put a real stop to this glorifying of terrorism. That’s going to be a big job indeed.
