Today is November 12th. On this date in 1859, Jules Leotard performed the first flying trapeze act. Guess what he wore? Yep, shoes. Also on this date, in 1799, Andrew Ellicott Douglass wrote a journal entry documenting the Leonids meteor shower. It is the first known record of a meteor shower in North America.
