Bonkers: Greenpeace Kooks Pour Fake Blood Into US Embassy Pond to Protest.. Israel?

If you want an example of a "watermelon," as defined in modern political slang - green on the outside, Communist red on the inside - you don't have to look any further than Greenpeace. That group has been overtly bonkers for a couple of decades now, including the unforgivable desecration of Peru's famous Nazca lines for a stupid stunt in 2014.

In their latest desperate cry for attention, they are now forgoing the environment - they are supposedly mostly about concern for the environment, right? Well, not today. Now, they are concerned about the United States supplying weapons to Israel, so they dumped a bunch of fake blood into a pond on the grounds of the U.S. Embassy - in the United Kingdom.

Yes, really. And the UK head of that coterie of nutbars was arrested for it.

The head of Greenpeace UK has been arrested after the group poured blood-red dye into the US embassy’s pond in protest against arms sales to Israel.

The campaign group said it had tipped 300 litres of biodegradable dye into the water outside the building in Nine Elms, south west London.

Will McCallum, Greenpeace UK’s co-executive director, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause criminal damage, alongside five other activists who also face charges of criminal damage.

If charged and convicted of the offence, he could be jailed for a maximum of 10 years.

Let's be honest, he's not going to be jailed for 10 years, satisfying as that would be. It wouldn't be a bit surprising if he wasn't even charged, just given a stern talking-to and sent home. I mean, this is Britain, and it's not like he made a social media post criticizing his kid's school or anything really serious like that.

Now, this is the interesting bit:

Pictures show 12 protesters pouring the dye from containers emblazoned with the words “Stop Arming Israel”.

They claim US State Department figures show Donald Trump has “continued the policy” of his predecessor, Joe Biden, since taking office by supplying nearly $12 billion weapons to Israel.

The group said the containers were taken to the embassy building on bikes disguised as delivery drivers.

Areeba Hamid, Greenpeace UK’s co-executive director, said: “These arrests are further proof that the right to protest is under attack in the UK.

Well, Areeba Hamid is right about one thing: The right to protest is under attack in the UK. But one is forced to wonder, if someone named "Areeba Hamid" is their co-executive director, why is Greenpeace UK, supposedly an environmental group, so concerned about Israel?

I think we are all thinking the same thing here.

Of course, this is a perfect example of an empty gesture; as the Bard would have it, "...a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." Not one person will be swayed by a bunch of lunatics pouring red dye into a pond, just as not one person will be swayed by a bunch of lunatics blocking a roadway, gluing themselves to a door, or throwing tomato soup on a piece of priceless art. These stunts almost certainly cost these people support rather than gaining it.

And that's fine. I think it was the late, great Rush Limbaugh who said that the best thing we can do to combat liberalism is to just let liberals talk, and that applies to these far-left loonies as well. Every stupid protest, every empty gesture, and every act of overt nitwittery exposes these people for what they really are: Clowns.
