Oh, come on, Rachel, this is the best you can do?
I know your salary got cut back to just $25 million a year while you were doing your 100-day stint of hosting only 5 days a week, chatting about Trump, then falling back to your Monday-only gig while keeping that cool $25 mil a year.
Seriously?
You leave us like this?
Why do you hate us?
MSNBC hates us.
They hate America, so there is that, and Rachel must not like people who love to watch MSNBC.
I watch it because it seems like the people on there are not actual people; they are more like artificial intelligence-created caricatures of what would happen when oxygen gets cut off, when someone goes up in an Amazon capsule that does not ACTUALLY go into space.
That is how I explain Katy Perry, but I find them all amusing.
Rachel was on the last episode of some MSNBC show called "The Katie Phang Show," and declared that the Trump team suffers from incompetence.
I read about what my favorite Rachel said right HERE:
I feel like the kind of pundit common wisdom heading into Trump’s second term was that the comparison with the first term or the difference with the first term, was going to be that he was going to be more efficient. He was going to be better at doing what he wanted to do. And that’s what we should brace ourselves for. And I actually don’t think that’s the way it’s worked out. I think that he is definitely more ambitious in terms of the kind of radical change he wants for the country. I do think we’re in the middle of an attempted authoritarian overthrow of American democracy. I mean, I think everybody who predicted that was right, but I don’t think he’s any better at it. You just think about the litany of mistakes, things they acknowledge even are mistakes.
So we are living in a time where... attempted authoritarian overthrow of American democracy is actually occurring as we speak; that is incompetence, and what is Rachel doing about it?
Going back to one day a week, working on MSNBC.
How noble.
I seem to recall, although it was a while ago, that some of the same things were being said during Trump's first term. In fact, I specifically recall some people--who believed in some of the overall policy goals that Rachel Maddow believes in--were absolutely certain that Donald Trump contesting the 2020 election meant for sure he was not going to leave office and overthrow the peaceful transition to Joe Biden.
That would have been an ACTUAL authoritarian overthrow, but what we got was four years of Joe Biden pretending he was a human Roomba, bumping into stuff and bouncing off it. And also his magical auto-pen signing things about which Joe has no earthly idea.
I would actually think that when you're getting paid as much coin as Rachel is, she would come up with some new and more creative fear-mongering lines and not disappoint me like this. That working five days a week over the first 100 days of Trump has totally worn her out. Yet, for $25 million a year she could suck it up for just over three months and pretend to care.
Geez.
She should at least attempt, like her woefully (compared to her) underpaid colleagues in media are doing to jazz up how bad Trump is, as I covered here earlier on Saturday. Trump Should Never Go to Another Pope's Funeral Again, the Way the Media Is Sobbing About This Trip
First up...
Oh. POTUS wore a BLUE SUIT—the key word here is SUIT—to a funeral, and the media gets vapors over that?
Rachel, see how that is done?
Then this...
Trump was not aware that Biden was going to the Pope's funeral and did not give him a lift on Air Force One (which Joe would have fallen up or down the stairs on anyway):
“Oh he is? I didn’t know,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday, The Daily Mail reported. Trump said that a meeting with Biden during the trip to Italy was “not high on my list.”
The headline on the article says Trump refused to give Joe a ride to the event, but he did not know Joe was even alive and going to be at the same place at the same time, for cripes' sake.
I know the White House has protocols for this stuff, particularly when it comes to presidential travel or when a former president dies, but let's face it, Joe once fell up the stairs to Air Force One. Would it really surprise anybody if he fell down a couple of porch steps, banged his head and didn't speak to anybody for weeks?
Rachel, I think maybe the game has passed you up, and your colleagues at other outlets are out-hustling you, coming up with more ridiculous angles rather than the authoritarian overthrow of American democracy.
You have to get more creative, being you are back to just one day a week and will be able to get more than enough rest.
I'm pulling for you.
