Kid Rock Has an Idea That Needs to Happen: Inviting Bill Maher to the White House for Dinner

So, let's just start this off with a warning.

The idea that my fellow Michigan native Kid Rock just came up with in a conversation with Mr. Glenn Beck might be the craziest thing I have heard in a while, but damn it could work. I would only add that maybe an invite could be extended to Ted Nugent to zest it up even more.

As I was zooming around on the interwebs today, I came across an article that stopped me in my tracks. The one and only Bob Ritchie, also known as Kid Rock, was on Glenn's show and floated an idea that he says needs to happen.

HERE is the article I came across...

Kid Rock says he plans to bring Bill Maher as a dinner guest to the White House to chat with President Donald Trump soon, claiming the meetup could “unite” the country.

“I’m actually going to try and unite this country, and I’m starting at the end of the month. I’m taking Bill Maher to the White House for dinner. This guy who has done nothing but talk smack about the president since day one,” the musician said.

During an episode of “The Glenn Beck Podcast,” which aired Saturday, Rock (real name Robert James Ritchie) told host Glenn Beck that he first thought of setting up the dinner with Trump and Maher, who has been vocal about his distaste for the Republican president, when he recently stopped by the comedian’s “Club Random” podcast.

If Rock could pull this off, how incredible would that be?

The “Cowboy” singer, an ardent Trump supporter, said he feels he could find “common ground” and “break bread” with the political commentator, calling Maher “actually more reasonable than a lot of people on the right would think.”

As much as Maher has dug his heels in on Trump, he has also sounded off over his gripes about liberals and the overall state of America’s political climate.

“I was doing [Maher’s] podcast, I said, if I could hook you guys up … and trust me, there’s a lot more people deserving at that table for dinner so it’s a big deal to me to bring [Maher] there and to even have the president be like, ‘yeah, do it, let’s do it,’” Rock said. “I go, man, what would it say to this country?”

This idea is Pure Michigan and a little bit crazy.

Yet, this is actually how America used to operate.

Despising somebody's political leaning and/or view and hating them as an individual is not how we have always been. This was long before the litmus test of do you agree with everything that somebody else thought before you would even consider the idea of eating or having a drink with them.

Rock is also spot-on that Maher is more reasonable than anybody on "The View" could ever be. RedState has done several articles that have also reported and complimented Maher for just injecting plain com mon sense on his HBO talk show, "Real Time With Bill Maher."

Bill Maher Comes to Trump's Defense on DCA Crash, Decimates Biden on Border, and How Broken Our Gov't Is

From that post...

Maher came to Trump's defense over his response to a reporter on the DCA crash. The reporter asked Trump if he plans to visit the crash site.

Warning for graphic language:

Every other politician would go, ‘Of course, it was a tragedy.’ “And he went, ‘It’s the water. What do you want me to do, swim there?’" And I was like, exactly. 'F**k right. You’re exactly right. It’s a stupid question. And you got just the...answer you deserve."

I don't think that Trump is such an ideologue that he would not be able to find some common ground with Maher on something during a dinner. Bill, for his part, might just be crazy enough to accept an offer to walk into the White House and sit down with the modern-day version of Hitler and tell everyone he survived.

I can almost envision Leftists' heads exploding in horror and despair.

So once again, kudos to the local Michigan guy for coming up with an idea that is so crazy it might remind the nation that sometimes rhetoric can go too far, and not everyone who disagrees with you is your enemy.

What a wonderful world it could be.
