I bet if Will Smith, Howard Stern, and Donald Trump were all in a room together, the two of them (Stern and Smith) would just break down and cry over the dumbest thing. My money is on Stern crying first and calling his therapist, Smith looking around to see if Jada is glaring at him before he breaks down, and Trump just laughing at both of them.
That is how it would go if it ever happened. Hopefully, it would be on pay-per-view, being I would plunk down a TON of money to watch that action.
Of course, you probably have heard by now about the Oscar’s biggest moment in years that occurred this past Sunday night when Will Smith lost his ever-loving mind and slapped comic Chris Rock across the face over a joke. I wrote about this incident just yesterday: Will Smith Got His Feelings Hurt at the Oscars and Hit a Comic, Now Come the Real Jokes.
An incident this big is, of course, one of the reasons social media had to be invented and some of the hot takes over the past couple of days have absolutely not disappointed. One of the dumber comments to have been uttered is one involving the outspoken shock jock, Howard Stern, with his own version of Trump Derangement Syndrome. How you can connect Trump to Smith’s actions is beyond any rational thought, yet here we are.
From the Washington Examiner ‘Same guy’: Howard Stern likens Will Smith to Donald Trump…
“Not one person came out because he’s Will Smith,” said Stern, who pointed out that “this is how Trump gets away with s***. Will Smith and Trump are the same guy. He decided he’s going to take matters into his own hands.”
“At a time when the world is at war, bad timing, man. Calm your f****** a** down,” Stern said, referring to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
After co-host Robin Quivers said, “It shows where we are as human beings. You can’t even say something in a room without a war breaking out,” Stern took a moment to reflect on Rock, whom he described as “flustered. He was obviously, his head, he got f***** over.”
Actress and Trump critic Rosie O’Donnell also compared Smith to Trump.
She said that “like the Trump years — we don’t hold accountable.” O’Donnell also described Smith as being a “narcissistic madman” and accused the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of not doing anything.
You know that when Rosie O’Donnell is making the same point you have fallen down a rabbit hole of stupidity.
What is the form of accountability that should have been had concerning an event from just two days ago? According to reports, Chris Rock refused to press charges. We also don’t know what, if any, fallout Will Smith is going to face yet. So anyone saying there was no accountability 48 hours after an event is just plain stupid.
Claiming in any way, shape, or form that this act was like something Donald Trump had done is even dumber.
Just think of this for a moment: How much space is Donald Trump occupying in the small minds of people like Stern and O’Donnell? That these two are comparing Will Smith smacking somebody for a joke to the former President is mind-numbing. Comparing that to anything Donald Trump has done is delusional. I do love the fact that Trump is occupying so much space in these airheads’ minds. Yet I also feel bad for these people that Trump has absolutely broken them in ways no one would have ever dreamed possible.
Maybe Stern, Rosie, and anyone else who thinks that this comparison is valid could all get a discount rate on a psychiatrist to talk these feelings out. Because this is all this mindless chatter is — feelings over facts, and no matter how dumb the theory is, your feelings trump everything else in today’s broken world. (See what I did there?)
Just get ready, folks, for more of this lunacy. When Trump announces he is running for President again in 2024, this moronic drivel will increase 100 percent, and, quite frankly, I can’t wait for it to begin.
