Joe Biden is having a helluva time as President and he is not even at the 100-day mark. Just wait until he has his first full-fledged press conference this coming Thursday, that will be a barrel of monkeys.

As I have written over the past couple of days here at Red State Biden administration is struggling with the border crisis that was under control just 3 months ago. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has inked an $89.6 million contract with a Texas nonprofit to shelter Central American migrants in hotel rooms while the feds process a massive backlog of new arrivals at the border, according to the agency and reports.

The eight-figure deal was announced Saturday, as migrants continued to arrive at the border at a rate not seen in 20 years, including unaccompanied children crammed into jail-like detention centers to await transfer to federal shelters across the country.

ICE “has signed a short-term contract with the non-profit division of Endeavors to provide temporary shelter and processing services for families who have not been expelled and are therefore placed in immigration proceedings for their removal from the United States,” said ICE Acting Director Tae D. Johnson in a statement. “The $86.9 million contract provides 1,239 beds and other necessary services.”

With the absolute drubbing the administration has been taking on the border debacle, word came late Sunday when a lucky reporter caught Joe for a moment to ask a question about what will he do to help fix this crisis. Knowingly or not, Joe decided that a Trump-era policy was a good way to fix this.

Maybe he shouldn’t have ended it in the first place.

President Joe Biden said Sunday his administration is in the process of re-establishing an immigration policy that existed under former President Donald Trump’s administration.

“Why do you think the message to the migrants, telling them to stay home, don’t come now, why do you think that hasn’t resonated yet? What more can be done sir?” the reporter asked.

“A lot more. We’re in the process of doing it now, including making sure that we re-establish what existed before, which was they can stay in place and make their case from their home countries,” Biden responded.

What Biden or whoever told Biden this before he was given his ice cream for the day was possibly about a policy called ‘Remain in Mexico’ that the Trump administration had instituted back in 2019 and had been challenged in court by angry Democrats. The policy essentially kept people wanting to come here over in Mexico while they went through the process of entering this country legally. Certain aliens attempting to enter the U.S. illegally or without documentation, including those who claim asylum, will no longer be released into the country, where they often fail to file an asylum application and/or disappear before an immigration judge can determine the merits of any claim.  Instead, these aliens will be given a “Notice to Appear” for their immigration court hearing and will be returned to Mexico until their hearing date.

While aliens await their hearings in Mexico, the Mexican government has made its own determination to provide such individuals the ability to stay in Mexico, under applicable protection based on the type of status given to them.

Aliens who need to return to the U.S. to attend their immigration court hearings will be allowed to enter and attend those hearings.  Aliens whose claims are found meritorious by an immigration judge will be allowed to remain in the U.S.  Those determined to be without valid claims will be removed from the U.S. to their country of nationality or citizenship.

So why in the hell did the Biden administration go ahead and end a program that was working and was not allowing anyone to crash the border and run free in this country? Mostly because Orange Man bad and they did not look to see if it actually worked but just knee-jerk reacted that it was bad because Trump had done it. Had they just kept the current policy in place and took a breather to get people in place to see what worked and what didn’t, maybe this situation at the border would not be a situation.

So now Uncle Joe might have to back peddle, not as if he would know, and reinstitute something that the Trump administration originally put in place. Don’t worry though, I’m sure just like with the vaccines the Biden folks will claim they were the ones that did this along and the press will praise them and thank them for their service.

Shame Joe won’t remember any of it.
