I’ve been waiting to see what the #MeToo harpies were going to do. It is now three days since the story of Virginia Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax allegedly engaging in forcible sodomy with a colleague at the DNC Convention (you can sugar coat it as “sexual assault” if you wish but I think we should call it what it is). Ordinarily the are quick out of the gate, in a bovine sort of way, on this kind of thing and I was beginning to speculate that the political survival of a “mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy” who is lieutenant governor and who looked to be just hours away from becoming governor of Virginia as Ralph Northam’s crap was looking very, very weak, was much more important than what he put where 15 years ago.
Late this afternoon, NOW stirred itself into action.

About the same time, Fairfax lawyered up.
Virginia’s embattled lieutenant governor, who is facing accusations of sexual assault, has hired the law firm that previously represented now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
A local NPR station reported Wednesday that Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax (D) has hired Wilkinson Walsh + Eskovitz, which previously represented Kavanaugh.
“I can confirm that I and my firm have been representing the Lieutenant Governor since January 2018,” a partner at the firm told the NPR station.
The irony of Dr. Vanessa Tyson hiring the law firm who represented Christine Ford and Fairfax hiring Brett Kavanaugh’s legal team is just too much.
A couple of things are now evident. Fairfax is in trouble. If NOW is going after him, this will be a loyalty test for Democrat politicians. Which do they value more, Fairfax or NOW’s money and field operation? Fairfax also knows his crap is very nearly in the street. He has been accused of a felony by a credible witness. This is the kind of thing where you can’t just say, “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you were distressed while I was immobilizing your head,” and move on. If this isn’t disproven or retracted, he’s more than likely done. I can’t wait for the fight. And I can’t wait for the recriminations after an organization composed mostly of well-off white women leads the fight to force a black Democrat from office.
