But the bottom line is there are big questions here given Biden's condition, and the DOJ should be looking into this.

The governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands, on the other hand, is looking to relax the gun laws in the territory, and I'd much rather spend my vacation money in a place where the right to keep and bear arms actually exists to some degree than a place where a single bullet can result in a decade-long lockup.

WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
On Thursday, the Senate invoked cloture on Lori Chavez-DeRemer to be Labor Secretary and Troy Edgar to be Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security. Edgar was subsequently confirmed, with Chavez-DeRemer's confirmation vote expected early next week.
It's Friday, so no hearings are scheduled on the Hill. That might be just as well, as there's a bit of a food fight going on now between some Democrats and Republicans in the aftermath of Rep. Al Green's (D-TX) Tuesday night stunt and subsequent censure, with Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) calling for Green (and Dems who sang "We Shall Overcome" on the House floor) to be stripped of committee assignments and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) calling Ogles a fraud and slamming Republicans as "malignant clowns."
Next week will be the big showdown on the continuing resolution, with a March 14 deadline. Expect high drama.
White House What's Up
President Donald Trump met with his Cabinet and Elon Musk on Thursday and spelled out their respective authority when it comes to hiring and firing. He also indicated during a back-and-forth with reporters in the Oval Office that he's anticipating a report next week regarding the status of the investigations into the two assassination attempts on his life.
Trump is set to sign more executive orders Friday afternoon and then deliver remarks at the Digital Assets Summit before heading off to Mar-a-Lago for the weekend.
Update: His schedule has now been updated to indicate he'll deliver remarks from the Oval Office at 11:00 a.m. Eastern, as well.
Vice President JD Vance shared scenes from his visit to the Southern border with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

COMING ATTRACTIONS
President Trump will be on "Sunday Morning Futures" with Maria Bartiromo. Here's a preview of their discussion on Iran.
As noted above, a confirmation vote on Lori Chavez-DeRemer is expected early next week. That will leave only Elise Stefanik's nomination for UN Ambassador (of the top-tier officials) awaiting confirmation. The House needs her vote on the funding CR, so expect her confirmation vote to follow that.
MORNING MUSING
This morning, I'd like to give a special shoutout to the White House comms team for putting this out in response to the Dems' whackadoo "Choose Your Fighter" vid.

I finally figured out what this new administration most reminds me of, and it is this: When "Top Gun: Maverick" came out (nearly three years ago now), I gave my review of it in an article titled, 'Top Gun: Maverick' Met All Expectations, Save One. A key excerpt from that review:
What I didn’t expect (so perhaps it’s a bit misleading to say the movie didn’t meet an expectation; rather it far exceeded one I didn’t even realize I had) was the huge wave of emotion that hit me toward the end of the movie – not because the storyline itself was moving, though it was, even if in a somewhat predictable way – but because it so perfectly evoked a feeling I’d almost forgotten.
As formulaic (and yes, even cheesy) as both films are, there’s a wholesome feel-goodness to them both. It’s hard to capture it adequately with words here – it’s not love of country (that’s implicit here but just faintly so), it’s not pride in our military and technology (explicit without being ham-fisted); it’s the sense that we are capable of greatness, of doing the right thing, of sacrifice, of heroism, of selflessness, and of love.
There are no politics in this movie. There is no preaching. It’s just good guys (and gals) doing a good thing for good reason – and we, the audience, are given permission to cheer that unabashedly.
It is 2022 but it was also 1986. And for even just a little while, the cynicism and heartache we’ve experienced collectively in the intervening years receded. It made me feel like a kid again – in the best of ways. And it choked me up to realize how much I’ve missed that – how much we all have.
THAT. That is what Trump 2.0 feels like to me. And maybe that's just a testament to my full-on GenX-ness, but dangitall, I'm going to revel in that feeling as much and as long as I can.
