TOP O' THE MORNIN'
Hilarious and Scary Scenes Unfold As Biden 'Attends' White House 'Juneteenth' Event
Maybe the American people flip a switch and decide they no longer care, but for now, Biden is stuck with one inescapable reality: His own senility.
Boston Celtics Head Coach Joe Mazzulla Has No Time for Those Who Can’t See Past Skin Color
The leftist mind is fiercely determined to view all multi-faceted issues through a monochromatic prism of its own creation.
Judge Aileen Cannon Hands Jack Smith a Win on Motion to Dismiss - but Hands Trump One, Too
Perhaps I'm imagining it, but that strikes me as a potential nudge at Judge Juan Merchan.
WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
The critters are back on the Hill today, with a handful of meetings/hearings scheduled, such as:
- Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs — An oversight hearing to examine the Coast Guard, focusing on sexual assault and harassment
- House Intelligence (Permanent Select) — FY 2025 Intelligence Authorization Act (CLOSED)
- Senate Foreign Relations — To receive a closed briefing on policy developments and dynamics in the Middle East
The move likely to grab headlines Tuesday, however, will be the House Rules Committee meeting in the afternoon to mark up the contempt resolution regarding Attorney General Merrick Garland over his refusal to comply with Oversight and Judiciary Committee subpoenas regarding the audio recording of President Joe Biden's interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur.
White House What's Up
Fresh off whooping it up at the Juneteenth celebration, Biden will deliver remarks at "Everytown’s Gun Sense University" at the Washington Hilton in the early afternoon. That's it. (Perhaps he's saving his energy to console congratulate son Hunter on the outcome of his trial on federal gun charges.)
Full Court Press...
Speaking of Hunter and those gun charges...the evidence is in, the arguments made, and the jury is back to deliberating. How long will they take to render a decision? We'll all be watching closely.
Of Primary Concern
It's still primary season. Today sees elections in Maine, Nevada, North Dakota, and South Carolina. RedState will, of course, bring you the live results of those contests.
MORNING MUSING
I was thinking about Hunter's trial yesterday and something notable regarding it: No, it hasn't quite received the wall-to-wall breathless coverage that former President Donald Trump's Manhattan trial did, but it's still been reported on pretty thoroughly — and yet, you know who we haven't heard a lot about? The judge.
You know what we haven't heard a lot of during Hunter's trial? Reference to Judge Noreika. It's almost like she's played referee instead of QB. https://t.co/tRqdo8olFL
