#1 - Newsom’s ‘First Black Lesbian’ Senate Appointee Immediately Hit With Scandal, Cover-Up Underway — by Bonchie
You know, for all the talk of Newsom's smooth-talking demeanor, it's worth remembering that he's actually just an incompetent clown. That's why the comparisons between him and Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida are so laughable. Yeah, the coming debate between the two men will be entertaining, but it doesn't even really matter what happens because the real-world results are night and day. Florida is economically and socially booming with a huge influx of newcomers while California is drowning in a sea of far-left idiocy.
Getting back to Butler, the cover-up has already begun in earnest. EMILY's List, the rabid pro-abortion organization she worked for, scrubbed her listed residency in Maryland overnight.
#2 - The Whole ‘McHenry Kicks Pelosi out of Her Hideaway Office’ Story Gets Even More Amusing — by Sister Toldjah
Naturally, the move prompted some wailing from Pelosi, who proclaimed that the decision was "a sharp departure from tradition." It was kind of an ironic statement to make considering, as my colleague Bonchie noted, ousting a House Speaker - which Pelosi's fellow Democrats ultimately supported even after she allegedly told McCarthy prior to him becoming Speaker she would push back against such a move - is quite a departure from tradition as well.
In an update to this story, we're learning that it wasn't McHenry but McCarthy himself who was behind the call to get Pelosi kicked out of her hideaway office, something few on the House side have outside of high-ranking members. Further, the person who will be utilizing that office will be ... McCarthy:
#3 - Nancy Pelosi Ordered to Vacate Her Office by New Acting Speaker, and the Tears Start Immediately — by Bonchie
Oh, it was a "sharp departure from tradition?" So was ousting a sitting Speaker, but Pelosi had no problem helping make that happen. Democrats play for keeps, and the only way to respond to their ruthlessness is with ruthlessness.
The band-aid was ripped off in a variety of ways with McCarthy's ouster. Going forward, there should be no presumption that the opposition party won't get involved in the majority's fight over who will be Speaker. Pelosi wanted to cause chaos and chaos she should receive. That starts with making her staffers haul her big screen TV and the rest of her belongings out of her prestigious office.
#4 - WATCH: Fox Reporters Dismantle KJP's Absurd Answers, Leading Her to Make an Even Bigger Fool of Herself — by Mike Miller
Doocy began his back-and-forth with Jean-Pierre by asking how Biden felt about the pending healthcare workers' strike:
Since President Biden is so pro-union, is he okay with 75,000 healthcare workers possibly walking off the job this week?
KJP responded like she always responds — with pre-canned White House talking points.
What I can tell you is that — I’ve said this many times already this morning: The President believes all workers — all workers, including healthcare workers and those that make their work possible — they [sic]deserve a [sic] fair pay and they deserve fair — a fair benefit.
I’ll have to say, like, the Treasury Department laid out recently a major report that unions and collective bargaining are good for the overall economy and help raise wages at [sic] — for everybody, whether they are a union member or not and I think that matters.
#5 - GOP Now Taking Action to Boot Bowman After He Pulled Fire Alarm, as Old Tweet Comes Back to Haunt Him — by Nick Arama
The problem for him is he's in an untenable position to defend: he did something incredibly stupid and got caught, on camera before the world. But stupidity isn't an excuse for breaking the law, and we're going to see if there are truly any consequences for a Democrat. Are we fully in the two-tiered system where he will get a pass -- even when he does something for all the world to see?
People lit him up on social media with his actions, with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) calling for him to be prosecuted.
It's not clear yet what the legal consequences might be for Bowman. The Capitol Police is now investigating the incident.
