A shooting at Old National Bank in Louisville, Kentucky, ended with five people dead, including the shooter, and six others injured. Two of those injured are Louisville police officers, according to Louisville Metro Police Department.
The shooter, who LMPD confirmed is either a current or former employee of the bank, was encountered immediately upon law enforcement’s arrival at the scene.
At a press conference shortly after 11 a.m., Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear told reporters “We’ve gotta wrap our arms around these families (of the deceased).”
There are few other details currently known, including the shooter’s name and motive. Multiple agencies are now on the ground trying to get as much of that information together as possible. LMPD is releasing information on social media as it comes in.

At the press conference, Beshear confirmed that he knew some of the dead. He launched a prior campaign for Attorney General from that building, he said, and got to know many of the people who worked there.

A spokesperson for the Louisville Metro Police Department said that there are at least five deceased, with six transported to University Hospital.
The spokesperson also indicated that there is not an ongoing threat and the LMPD Twitter account confirms the shooter has been neutralized.
