While Trump White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt's star keeps rising, purported "journalist" Jim Acosta's has been steadily falling, most notably when he and CNN parted ways over his failure to agree to move to the dreaded midnight time slot as part of a round of lineup adjustments the struggling network was making at the beginning of the year.
As Leavitt continues to go toe to toe - and win - in her battles with the left-wing White House press corps on a near daily basis, Acosta's latest venture has been one we've seen a lot from media figures who have either decided to branch out on their own or who were let go by their employer: he started a Substack account.
While there's not necessarily anything wrong with starting a newsletter, he's been making the rounds on the podcast circuit to promote his new venture, talking to such intellectual heavyweights as Lincoln Project grifter Rick Wilson. Another of his more recent interviews was with the far-left "Meidas Touch" podcast.

During that Wednesday segment, Acosta took direct aim at Leavitt, saying she was a "kid" working her way up to "Trump’s all-star team of liars":
“She [Leavitt] might just get on Trump’s all-star team of liars,” Acosta said. “She might be on the bench right now, but if she keeps working hard, she does her homework, she just might make it onto the team.”
“It’s sort of like…when your kid is telling you a tall tale, and you’re just looking at them like, ‘Okay Johnny, sure, yeah, I believe you,” he continued, “and you just walk away saying, ‘What the hell. That kid’s not telling me the truth.’”
"It’s hard to see somebody out-Spicer Sean Spicer or out-Huckabee Sarah Huckabee Sanders, but Karoline Leavit -- she’s making a run for it," he also proclaimed.

Leavitt was at CPAC Friday for a main-stage interview. And when the subject of the disgraced former CNN White House correspondent came up, here's what she had to say on the matter:

Unraveling the mess the decrepit one & prior Press Sec left behind, @PressSec adds clarity to the work underway, pace of hardworking Trump White House, & degree of transparency, who knew Leavitt was also funny? On Jim Acosta’s jabs: “Well, at least I have a job.” @CPAC pic.twitter.com/ZY2h6nFti5

I'd also add for the record that Jim Acosta of all people lecturing anyone about allegedly lying is a lecture his targets should start treating as credible on like the 12th of Never.
The list of Acosta's whoppers and half-baked "truths" is arguably longer than Santa's naughty list, so he should maybe do himself a favor and take a seat on this one.
