Sen. Richard Blumenthal's Attacks on Supreme Court's 'Imploding Stature' Do Not Go According to Plan

On Tuesday, Chief Justice John Roberts issued strong condemnations in his 2024 year-end report on the federal judiciary, criticizing attacks from public officials including elected leaders that he says go too far and which sometimes involve attempts to intimidate judges/justices and/or threaten their lives if a verdict or ruling doesn't go someone's way.

"Attempts to intimidate judges for their rulings in cases are inappropriate and should be vigorously opposed," Roberts suggested in his 15-page report. "Public officials certainly have a right to criticize the work of the judiciary, but they should be mindful that intemperance in their statements when it comes to judges may prompt dangerous reactions by others."

He went on to note that "Every Administration suffers defeats in the court system—sometimes in cases with major ramifications for executive or legislative power or other consequential topics." In recent years, however, he observed that some (unnamed) administrations had "raised the specter of open disregard for federal court rulings," which he said were "dangerous suggestions" that "must be soundly rejected."

With unhinged Democrat attacks on the Supreme Court hitting dangerous and unprecedented levels in recent years in mind, we turn to Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), who saw the news about Roberts' report and launched an attack of his own:

Reasons for the Supreme Court’s imploding stature are largely self-inflicted—no ethics, no restraint, no reality check, among others. Time for reflection & reform.

Needless to say, considering his highly controversial history (which includes credible and confirmed allegations of stolen valor), Blumenthal's attack did not go according to plan:

Maggie Speaks is especially on point there when you consider the unwritten rule in politics about how Democrats more often than not are the ones who are guilty of the very unethical, restraint-free things of which they accuse their political opponents.

Further, the only "reform" Democrats are ever interested in usually involves no self-reflection whatsoever into the absurdity of their woke, unpopular political stances and tactics. Instead, their version of "reforms" solely revolves around hamstringing Republicans and essentially forcing them to shut up from a procedural standpoint and take whatever Democrats have to offer.

The Supreme Court is going to be just fine. Senate Democrats, on the other hand? Well, considering the drubbing they got back in November, they are firmly in the minority now and will have a lot of time to reflect on their "imploding stature" and what might have been had they spent more time reforming themselves instead of showing the American people who they really were time and time with their unAmerican attacks and threats towards the conservative Justices.

Just sayin'.
