On Wednesday, it was refreshing to find out that Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito had effectively told his Democrat/media critics to go jump in a lake in response to the nontroversy surrounding flag flying that took place at his Virginia home and New Jersey beach house for short stints in 2021 and 2023 respectively.
“A reasonable person who is not motivated by political or ideological considerations or a desire to affect the outcome of Supreme Court cases would conclude this event does not meet the applicable standard for recusal," Alito wrote in a letter to Judiciary Committee Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) while also pointing out that his wife, Martha-Ann, was an American citizen who had the right to express her opinions.
A series of articles published by the New York Times over the last two weeks sought to call the impartiality of Justice Alito into question. In their view and that of their purported "experts," due to the alleged Jan. 6th symbolism of the flags in question, Mrs. Alito is sympathetic to the beliefs of the Capitol rioters and as such, her alleged beliefs have compromised Justice Alito's ability to impartially judge cases related to Jan. 6 and the 2020 presidential election.
Not surprisingly, the Democrat peanut gallery wasted little time weighing in on Alito's rejection of their demands. Among them was Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who laughably portrayed himself as some type of moral authority on ethical standards:
Justice Alito claims that the Jan 6 flags outside his homes were displayed at his wife’s insistence.

Maybe so.
But that is not the issue. It's his insistence that he sit on cases where his impartiality is so plainly at issue.
It's his ethical judgment in question, not hers.
When I first read that I thought to myself "Is he admitting this really isn't about Mrs. Alito's flag flying?" I wasn't the only one:
Schiff admitting that his demand for Alito's recusal has nothing to do with the flags but only to do with his disagreement with Alito's voting record.

This is exactly why the founders built in the separation of powers, to prevent partisan interference with the courts. https://t.co/qMpUI4ciYx
And not just to prevent partisan interference but also to prevent bad-faith actors like Adam Schiff from fundamentally upending the American system of governance as we know it:
You are a special kind of corrupt. You lie and misrepresent with such ease, it's become second nature. Just for the record, there is no such thing as a "Jan 6 flag" just like there was no "Russian collusion". And I have hope that someday you will be held accountable. https://t.co/EQk4s41RV4

As far as I'm concerned, if Alito wasn't in favor of flying his American flag inverted outside his home before, maybe he should be now. Because if corruptocrats like Durbin, Whitehouse, and Schiff have their way, America will indeed be in distress (if not already). Bigly.
