We previously reported on how CNN’s Most Principled Journalist™ Jake Tapper told on himself during a contentious exchange with Senate Judiciary Chairman Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) Sunday on the issue of so-called “abortion rights” and the inability of Democrats on the committee to ram through President Joe Biden’s more radical judicial nominees due to the prolonged absence of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who is currently recovering from a bout of shingles.
As I noted, if one viewed the transcript without looking at the names on it, they would think Tapper was the Democratic Judiciary Committee Chairman and not Durbin considering how he came at Durbin from the far left, sneering over Durbin showing deference to a long-time colleague over a sensitive health matter while ripping talking points straight from the Woke Handbook, basically telling Durbin that he was failing to protect women from the dangers they supposedly faced from the conservative Supreme Court.
Here are some eye-opening quotes from Tapper during that interview:
“At what point do the tens of millions of voters currently lacking full representation in the Senate from California, at what point do they matter more than the feelings of a colleague whose health has been in question for a long time?”
[…]
“I mean, all due respect, sir, you and your fellow Democrats were very ginger and very polite when it came to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in not pushing her to retire when you had a Democratic majority in the Senate. How did that work out for you? How did that work out for Roe v. Wade?”
To state once more for the record, clearly, CNN CEO Chris Licht still has some work to do.
Newsbusters executive editor Tim Graham and I sat down on Monday to discuss Tapper’s on-air abortion hacktivism in-depth, noting that this isn’t the first time he and his struggling “news” network have been caught doing the far left’s dirty work on the issue of abortion. We also talked about a recent USA Today piece that Graham correctly pointed out tried to smear Republicans for having the nerve to criticize Vice President Kamala Harris, a tactic which the paper predictably described as a “ruthless assault against the first Black and Asian American woman to hold the vice presidency.”
Make sure to listen to our conversation by clicking below or here. Below that is the “State of the Union” segment between Tapper and Durbin for those who missed it.
Thanks so much for listening!
