Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio Hilariously Troll Jill Biden After Cringe ‘Breakfast Tacos’ Comment Goes Viral

First Lady, excuse me, Dr. Jill Biden likely had no idea what kind of firestorm she would create Monday during her appearance in Texas at a “Latinx IncluXion” luncheon. But a firestorm is exactly what erupted after she gave a speech in which she mispronounced bodegas as “bogidas” (though you wouldn’t know it from the altered White House transcript) and compared members of the Hispanic community in San Antonio to breakfast tacos.

For those who missed the moment, watch below:

Understandably, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists was among the first to respond critically to Mrs. Biden’s cringe comments, telling her that “using breakfast tacos to try to demonstrate the uniqueness of Latinos in San Antonio demonstrates a lack of cultural knowledge and sensitivity to the diversity of Latinos in the region.”

In a tweet they posted where the all-important letter “x” could not be found, the NAHJ made sure to clarify for anyone wondering, including the First Lady’s speechwriters, that “we are not tacos.”

Not surprisingly, Hispanic Republican politicos got in on the action as well, with Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) hilariously changing his profile picture to a taco:

Meanwhile, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) quipped in response to Biden’s comparison that “Personally, I’m a chorizo, egg & cheese. 🌮🌮🌮”

Mayra Flores, the new Republican Congresswoman for Texas 34th Congressional District and who absolutely terrifies Democrats and the MSM, tweeted that “The Hispanic community is so much more and unique than breakfast tacos!! P.S. Latina > Latinx.”

A quick check on Twitter trends Tuesday morning found that “Jill Biden” was trending alongside “#TacoTuesday“:

Cassy Garcia, the Republican nominee for Congress in Texas’ 28th Congressional district – which is currently being represented by Democrat Henry Cuellar – took the opportunity to speculate on how Jill Biden’s appearance at the “Latinx” event could ultimately be used to finally bring Joe Biden down to the southern border, which he has never visited in a political career that spans over five decades.

“Maybe if we rebrand the Southern Border as SouXern BorderX, Joe Biden will finally visit?” she wondered.

Judging by the last time he “visited” the area which even fact-checkers noted at the time it was claimed he did was merely him and his security detail driving by the border on the way to a 2008 Las Cruces campaign stop, the answer to that is probably “no.”

But seeing that apparently, neither Joe Biden nor his co-president Jill Biden can be bothered to research Hispanic culture enough to respect its various intricacies and to understand that they, like other so-called “minority” groups, don’t all think alike, it’s probably best (for them) that they stay away, if for no other reason than to not cause even more of an influx of Hispanics from the Democratic party to the Republican party, something that is already underway.
