As we reported earlier, things got super weird during a press conference President Joe Biden held earlier today where he announced a bipartisan deal on a bloated infrastructure bill, made possible with the help of the below 11 Republican Senators (in case you were wondering if your Republican Senator was one of them):

Richard Burr and Thom Tillis (NC), Bill Cassidy (LA), Susan Collins (ME) Lindsey Graham (SC), Jerry Moran (KS), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Rob Portman (OH), Mitt Romney (UT), Mike Rounds (SD), and Todd Young (IN).

In one of the more bizarre moments, Biden actually whispered an answer into his microphone at one point, which sounded like something straight out of a creepy horror movie. In another, Vice President Kamala Harris actually had to remind Biden to mention the horrific Florida beachfront condo building collapse tragedy where one person has been confirmed dead and close to 100 remain unaccounted for. Oddly, Biden let out an inappropriate giggle as he was reminded.

But it was before the official presser got underway when something perhaps even more bizarre happened just outside the White House.

In the event you missed it, look a little closer on the right side of the photo Jennifer Epstein tweeted out. That’s Kamala Harris standing way off in the background, far away from Biden and the bipartisan group of Senators who surrounded him:

Watch the first few seconds of the video below, where you can see her walking out with someone and then hanging way back from the rest of the group as Biden spoke to the gaggle of reporters. You can even see it in the still image The Hill used for the video:

Why would she do that? Why not join Biden in taking their victory lap?

Needless to say, this is going to spawn a wave of memes about how Kamala was either lurking in the wings and waiting for her moment, or how she wanted no part of the deal action, or how the President who bragged in 2019 as a presidential candidate about working with segregationist Senators (and who Kamala Harris all but accused of being a racist at the time) was making the nation’s first black female VP stand back from everyone else.

Take your pick. But it was just a very strange scene, just not normal, in my view. But then again, not much is with this administration, all things considered.
