Ron DeSantis Zeroes in on Exactly Why Biden's G7 Performance Was Disastrous in Possible 2024 Preview

We extensively covered President Biden’s weekend appearance at the G7, and – not that it will surprise most people reading this – it was a disaster from start to finish.

At times he appeared confused or got a bit too “chatty” and had to be helped not just by First Lady Jill Biden but also by other world leaders. There was also the disgustingly perverse nature of the whole event, which Biden bumbled through with a smile on his face the entire time.

For those who remember how former President Trump was not shy about putting G7 members on the hot seat, it was a depressing reminder of just how stark the differences are between Trump’s leadership style on the world stage versus Biden’s. His prostrating before China and Russia, and overall weak performance was just not a good look at all coming from the leader of the free world.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, in a possible 2024 preview, minced no words when asked about it Sunday during an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” program. DeSantis drew comparisons between Biden and Trump and pointed out how Biden’s posturing “probably played well with European elites” more so than it did “Middle America.”

“I think that President Biden is someone that’s much more passive on the world stage, not nearly as assertive as somebody like Donald Trump was,” DeSantis stated. “I think that our adversaries are watching that.”

As to China and the current debate over the origins of the Wuhan coronavirus virus, DeSantis said that he “didn’t hear very much in the way of holding China accountable for their role in covering up the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“I think that’s absolutely essential that China be held accountable for their role in that, as well as any bureaucrats in the United States who may have been covering it up,” DeSantis suggested in a clear jab at Biden’s chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci.

DeSantis also hit Biden on his Keystone pipeline stance, correctly pointing out that “thousands and thousands” of good jobs were lost by Biden bending the knee to hypocritical climate alarmists as soon as he took office.

“Those were thousands and thousands of very good jobs. And then also think about family budgets, with the sharp increase in gas prices, and then the overall budding inflation that we are seeing that’s being fueled by his big-spending policies. So, I think that his performance probably played well with European elites. Not sure that there was much in it for Middle America,” the popular Republican governor speculated.

In the full interview, which you can watch below, DeSantis also talked about his state’s efforts at combating CCP infiltration at U.S. institutions, something that is not even on Biden’s radar:

So, we did two bills, one to combat foreign influence specifically targeted at the CCP, as well as corporate espionage, which also is generally targeted at the CCP, because they’re the worst offenders. So, we actually had a Confucius Institute that was done at Miami-Dade College. Fortunately, when I became governor, we looked at that, and we had the college get rid of it. However, this is something, I think, that’s going to be a continued concern. So, our bill we signed basically bans things like Confucius Institutes from getting a foothold on Florida universities.

We also want to protect trade secrets from our businesses and all that, because CCP infiltration there has been very, very prominent throughout the country. But, man, these academia, there’s deep ties in many segments of academia with the Communist Party of China.

If this is what 2024 is going to look like – pitting someone like DeSantis who pulls no punches against Biden, who can only manage to sound tough by accident and rarely at that, I am so ready for it.
