Tomorrow, Georgians will take to the polls to decide the two final Senate races of the 2020 election.
Incumbent Republican Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler are currently locked in neck and neck battles against Democrats Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock. As it stands now, the GOP has a 50-48 advantage in the Senate, and Perdue and Loeffler winning their reelection fights would allow the party to maintain control.
Understandably, a 50-50 Senate is not where Republicans want to be, especially if Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are affirmed as the winners of the presidential election when Congress convenes for a joint session Wednesday in order to count (and dispute) Electoral College votes.
Naturally, no high-stakes election would be complete without the inevitable allegations of racism being leveled against the Republican contenders. False claims have been made against Loeffler by Ossoff, and over the weekend Perdue found himself on the receiving end of similar accusations courtesy of dishonest left-wing hack Judd Legum, who took to the Twitter machine Saturday and accused Perdue of flashing a “white power sign” in a photograph taken in October:
.@sendavidperdue should explain why he is making a white power sign in this photo posted by a Trump campaign operative on October 15 pic.twitter.com/vB3hk1Ixlm
— Judd Legum (@JuddLegum) January 2, 2021
In the next tweet, Legum provided the direct link to the Facebook page he saw the image on in an attempt to back up his statement about Perdue:
For people who say its photoshopped, here is the link to the original photo: https://t.co/fTBcUCeNxH

The big problem with Legum’s “racism” charge is that when you click on the link, it takes you to the page of a black GOP activist — Jasper Preston — who provided the reason each of the people in the photo including Perdue were holding up three fingers:
And after Legum posted his tweet, Preston followed up in another Facebook post and pushed back against the “racism” claims, also noting that the two young men in the picture with Perdue were Native Americans:
And *just for the record* the Black Republican operative who took this photo says the hand sign is for 3,000 doors knocked during the campaign cycle.
And *also for the record* people use a similar sign to troll liberals, and still others use it to denote racism! pic.twitter.com/ZCCgKCgdAV

We already have an understatement of the year contender just 4 days into 2021. “Professional liar and smear merchant” is putting it mildly.
Though Legum’s allegation has been conclusively shown to be fake news, as of this writing Twitter has taken no action against either Legum or the tweet because of course they haven’t.
