Key White House Coronavirus Task Force member Dr. Deborah Birx has been like the calm within the storm during the daily press briefings the White House holds on the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak.

Where Dr. Fauci is all about the science, and President Trump is focused on giving an overall view of what’s being done, Birx uses her platform to ease the panic that has set in for some thanks in large part to the media’s deliberately sensationalistic reporting.

Such was the case on Wednesday and Thursday, when Birx cut through some of the hysteria to scold the media on their faulty doomsday narratives and selective analyses of the numerous all-over-the-map projections that exist about when Wuhan coronavirus cases in the United States may peak.

But for Obama bro Dan Pfieffer, Birx was doing it wrong. He took to the Twitter machine after her Thursday remarks in an effort to mansplain explain to her how he thinks she could do her job better:

Instead of lecturing the Governors, nurses, and doctors on the front lines, Dr Birx could use her position and platform to push the President to his power to invoke the DPA to make more ventilators.

What a really foolish comment to make. From his lofty Twitter perch, Pfieffer literally has no idea what conversations have occurred between Fauci, Birx, and Trump on the issue of medical equipment needs. She may have or she may not have spoken to him about ventilator production, but because up until this afternoon Trump had not invoked the DPA, Pfieffer just assumed she hadn’t.

Not only that, but as a former senior adviser to President Obama, surely Pfieffer understands that even when you do make suggestions to the president that doesn’t mean they are going to automatically approve of them.

In any event, Pfieffer’s “advice” fell flat with a lot of folks who saw it as mansplaining and a predictable attack coming from a prominent Democrat who will continue to bash the Trump administration no matter what they do:

Several corporations are already making ventilators they volunteered, did not need to be forced. Dr. Birx is calming fears and dispelling media driven panic. That is her job and it serves to help doctors and nurses by keeping public from rushing to hospitals in the panic.
