Paul Krugman is nothing if not predictable.
When last we left you, the liberal New York Times columnist was being urged by some of his own supporters to cool it when it came to his extreme case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Treating Trump supporters with such contempt and basing all his arguments on the Orange Man bad premise, Atlantic magazine contributing writer Sebastian Mallaby wrote at the time, detracts from the arguments he tries to make and fails to bring more people to the table.
Unfortunately, the 2008 Nobel Prize winner didn’t take the advice.
Krugman, who is viewed as an untouchable legend of sorts among the liberal elite in part because heβs an unapologetic basher of all things Republican and Trump, took to the Twitter machine earlier today to add his voice to those who were fangirling cheering on House Intel Chair Adam Schiff’s (D-CA) opening statement at the start of the Senate’s impeachment trial:
Stray thought watching Adam Schiff: some of the Dem prez candidates are impressive, but their Congressional leadership is awesome. On this front, at least, the party is doing something right.

Before we get to how he got stung by way of a reality check after this laughable statement, let’s get into Mystery Science Theater 3000 mode and peak into what the folks who agreed with his assessment of Schiff had to say (hint: it was a bit like entering the Twilight Zone):
I am deeply impressed with Schiff and Pelosi. Honorable, highly intelligent, committed to the country, thoughtful. Makes me wish I lived in their districts.

I was envisioning him as a future Supreme Court Justice! Could you imagine Schiff and Garland! Impressive, intelligent men for sure…

Blown away by Adam now and as chair of Intelligence Committee. He is POTUS material β I want CA to share him with the rest of us. Smart, knowledgeable, oratory skills, high integrity and passionate. Love to listen to him.

Schiff followed by Trump's two lawyers is like watching Cristiano Ronaldo followed by two U.S. high school players.

Schiff is brilliant & effective that's why he is hated.

Wait what? Things are getting a little heavy in here. LOL.
But back to Krugman, well, let’s just say his opinions and judgment are highly questionable, as one Twitter user reminded him in a brutally honest tweet:
You can take everything Krugman says to the Bank! https://t.co/8rzJGDe59Q pic.twitter.com/40AlbPb1zp

Yep. And he’s still getting it wrong.
Paul Krugman. Never right. In more ways than one.
