I think it’s safe to say at this point that Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-MA) 2020 presidential campaign has fallen off the rails. Once a strong contender for frontrunner status with Joe Biden, Warren is now firmly behind both Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in national polling averages. In the crucial caucus state of Iowa, Warren is now in fourth place behind Mayor Pete, Biden, and Sanders.

A similar scenario is also playing out for Warren in the early primary state of New Hampshire.

Warren is fond of playing the woman card when it suits her, but her gradual fall from grace with Democratic voters has a lot more to do with how Warren herself has turned off voters with her hypocrisy and and double standards. Not to mention the fact that she writes big-government-program checks with her mouth that not even Democratic taxpayers want Congress to try to cash.

Also, Warren’s penchant for telling fibs and embellishing her “woke” creds, which President Trump helped expose with his “Fauxcahontas” nickname of her, has caught up with her.

It started not long after she began to release more details on her Medicare for All plan (which she has also recently, ahem, modified), but that’s hardly the only reason she’s in a freefall.

The list has grown “bigly” over the last couple of months in particular as new media journalists and conservative activists in particular, and even some in the mainstream press are more closely scrutinizing her record and public statements. Here are some examples:

1. Her big money donors hypocrisy: During last Thursday’s debate, Warren referenced a high dollar private fundraiser held in a billionaire’s wine cave for Mayor Pete. She stated the wine cave was “full of crystals” where “$900-a-bottle wine” was served, as if to suggest the South Bend, Indiana mayor was someone who could be bought and sold to the highest bidder.

Not only did Buttigieg remind viewers (and voters) during the debate of Warren’s past history of high dollar fundraisers when she ran for Senate, but he also made a key point about how Democratic candidates should not hold others to purity standards they don’t adhere to themselves. It was probably the best moment of the debate.

2. Her “wine cave fundraisers” hypocrisy: Just days after her wine cave fundraisers criticism of Mayor Pete, it was discovered that Warren herself held a swanky fundraiser at a winery several years ago – at the exact same address:

There was also another one she held at another winery just last year:

3. Warren’s school choice whoppers: The Senator got caught – and her campaign had to admit – she was not being honest when she made the claim that all of her children only attended public schools. As it turns out, her son attended private schools after fifth grade.

4. Warren decries billionaire businessmenexcept when she’s using them to help fundraise on her campaign websites:

5. Warren frequently slams big banks and corporate America – except when she’s a guest speaker for one of them (hat tip: Twitchy):

Is Warren’s campaign over thanks to all of this? No. But the fact that Democratic voters and even some in the mainstream media seem to be catching on to her act means now more than ever she has to watch what she says – or she’s gonna get called out on it.

In short, the free passes afforded to her by members of the press and even liberals for so long in her presidential campaign are largely over.
