New: Trump Shoots Down Questions About Hegseth With Perfect Response

The liberal media was roiling Monday morning over Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

NPR — that bastion of unbiased reporting (that's sarcasm) — ran a story claiming that the White House had begun the process of looking for a new Secretary of Defense.

The story was supposedly based on one "U.S. official who was not authorized to speak publicly."

Anonymous source and a liberal media organ that may lose its federal funding. How much is that story worth?

As we reported earlier, Hegseth got a big defense from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, declaring in a remarkable statement that there were people working in the Pentagon who were trying to undermine Hegseth.

"Unfortunately, there have been people, in that building, who don’t like the change the Secretary is trying to bring, so they are leaking and lying to the mainstream media. We’ve seen this game played before, the Secretary is doing a tremendous job and the President stands strongly behind him.”

The White House Rapid Response account specifically shot down that story from NPR, declaring it "WRONG" and "Fake News!"

Then, President Donald Trump himself put paid to questions about Hegseth with his own response during the Easter Egg Roll at the White House.

"Here we go again," Trump said, scoffing at the efforts against Hegseth. "Just a waste of time. He is doing a great job."

"Why do you still have confidence in him?" one of the reporters asked.

Trump repeated again, "Because he's doing a great job...Ask the Houthis how he's doing. Ask the Houthis how much dysfunction there is."

Now that's a mic drop right there. The Houthis, no doubt, are not liking American strength right now.

Trump repeated that everyone was happy with Hegseth, and he even included how recruitment has gone up under his chosen defense secretary, as opposed to how it had cratered under Joe Biden. Trump said he thought it was the highest numbers in 28 years. Trump termed the rumor "fake news" and said Hegseth was put in to get rid of a "lot of bad people," and perhaps this was from a "disgruntled" person.

So much for that NPR story and the other rumors being pushed. Trump just nuked those thoughts about six ways to Sunday. But of course, as he notes, when you are shaking up things to bring much-needed change, you are likely to step on some entrenched toes that aren't going to like it.

From the outset, you had people who wanted to stop Hegseth and prevent him from making changes. And it sounds like they're still trying.

But it's not working.

Editor's Note: Thanks to President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's leadership, the warrior ethos is coming back to America's military.
