You would think that all Americans on all sides of the aisle would cheer the efforts of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — the organization created by President Donald Trump and headed by Elon Musk to do a deep dive into our government spending. What a service that is to get our government under control finally.
But the left freaked out that Musk and his DOGE guys would dare actually look into things like the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Then, some at USAID apparently didn't want to let the DOGE folks in to look at things there.

The left has been whipping this up as though the DOGE folks are taking over the government. They seem to have forgotten that DOGE was created by the president who heads up the executive branch; unelected bureaucrats are not in charge. They don't get to dictate to the president and his agents. But DOGE is hitting at the levers of power and a lot of money. So, many on the left are not happy about that.
Then, as our friends at our sister site Hot Air reported, WIRED magazine named some of the DOGE team in an article. They also claimed they were "tracking" more Musk people who had "infiltrated" the Government Services Administration.
Now, some of the DOGE guys are receiving threats, including people posting on social media things like "hunt them down." They've posted their names and all their information. This is a crazy reaction to them wanting to help make the government more efficient and clean things up. I'm not going to repost the threats because they include the names of people. But the left have truly lost their minds.
Elon Musk praised the efforts of his people.
Time to confess:

Media reports saying that @DOGE has some of world’s best software engineers are in fact true.
They shouldn't have to face threats as well in the face of all this because people on the left are attacking them.
But the Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Ed Martin, is coming to their defense.
Dear @elon, Please see this important letter. We will not tolerate threats against DOGE workers or law-breaking by the disgruntled. All the best. Ed Martin pic.twitter.com/jIgMPVbPT5

Martin told Musk, "We will not tolerate threats against DOGE workers or law-breaking by the disgruntled." He said they would keep all government employees safe and protect the American people's property.
I recognize that some of the staff at DOGE has been targeted publicly. At this time, I ask that you utilize me and my staff to assist in protecting the DOGE work and the DOGE workers. Any threats, confrontations, or other actions in any way that impact their work may break numerous laws."
Let me assure you of this: We will pursue any and all legal action against anyone who impedes your work or threatens your people. We will not act like the previous administration who looked the other way as the Antifa and BLM rioters as well as thugs with guns trashed our capital city. We will protect DOGE and other workers no matter what.
Martin then warned them they had to watch out for people who might be "acting against our American people," referring to a recent case where they indicted a former Federal Reserve adviser for alleged espionage for China.

Martin then urged Musk to let him know if they had any further issues.
Good for Martin. This is an important public warning people will face consequences if they go after DOGE or other government workers and might back some of these crazies off. These guys need to be protected to unravel all the mess.
