The complete disaster of the wildfires in California has caused a lot of pushback against the Democratic leadership of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
It may be causing people to finally see what a failure that leadership is, given what podcaster Megyn Kelly has to say. She related what she had been told by her "woke" friend whose house had burned down.
.@MegynKelly: "My friend who lives in California, whose house burned - this is my one woke friend. I love this woman dearly, but she's woke... And she's like, 'MK, everyone I know is ready to vote Republican. Everyone I know.' All of her woke friends, all of her Dem… pic.twitter.com/UVEJKD6SiQ

"My friend who lives in California, whose house burned - this is my one woke friend. I love this woman dearly, but she's woke. Amazingly, we've maintained our friendship, we kinda just don't talk about these subjects much. But she's woke. And she's like, 'MK, everyone I know is ready to vote Republican. Everyone I know.' All of her woke friends, all of her Dem friends. We're all talking about how soon we can get Republican leadership into these offices. I mean, that is saying something."
That is in fact saying something. It's pretty significant when someone who's woke gets that red-pilled by unfortunate reality.
Our Bob Hoge's wife Roxanne Hoge messaged Kelly to have her friend contact her about becoming involved with the GOP in California.

And while it's hard to judge how broad that sentiment might be, the fact that there are petitions now calling for the recall of both Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass does indicate that the anger is palpable. The organizers of the recall against Newsom expect to file paperwork in about two weeks.
“Under the reign of Governor Newsom, living in California has become impossible for average people through years of poor policies which have increased the costs of living, increased crime, increased drug use and homelessness, increased the cost of burden [sic] on small businesses and communities, while decreasing our professional standards, education standards, the disappearance of billions of taxpayers’ dollars to failed pet programs, and our public services,” one recall organizer, Randy Economy, said in a statement.

The petition against Bass just raked her over the coals.
“Families have been displaced, homes destroyed, and livelihoods shattered –- yet Mayor Bass has been absent from the frontlines, choosing to travel abroad while her constituents suffer,” reads the petition, which calls for “a full, transparent investigation into the failures in disaster preparedness, response, and resource allocation that left [LA] vulnerable.”
It's hard to believe it now, but California at one point used to be red. Is it heading there again? The failures here by Democratic leadership have been stark and if anything is going to do it, this just might.
