Kamala Harris said a lot of ignorant things during her campaign.
But perhaps one of the worst was when she claimed that “As of today, there is not one member of the United States military who is in active duty in a combat zone in any war zone around the world, the first time this century.”
Now, of course, this was nonsensical as there were troops dealing with the Houthis, as well as in Iraq and in Syria dealing with ISIS. Yet this clueless woman was trying to pitch something as an achievement that didn't exist.

But at least, even if she's clueless, the military would know, right?
Maybe not. Not Biden's military.
Let's listen to Pentagon spokesperson Gen. Pat Ryder explain to us that he "recently learned" that there are 2,000 troops in Syria, not the 900 or so they've been telling us.
🚨 Biden Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder says he "recently learned" there are actually 2,000+ U.S. troops deployed in Syria — far more than the 900 they had previously announced. pic.twitter.com/MKlqO2ZlqS

He said they "recently learned" that those numbers were higher because of the current situation in Syria and that, "asked to look into it," he learned Thursday that, in fact, there are approximately 2,000 troops in Syria.
“As I understand it, and as it was explained to me, these additional forces are considered temporary rotational forces that deploy to meet shifting mission requirements, whereas the core 900 deployers are on longer term deployments,” Ryder said.
Wait a second. "Recently learned?" Aren't you the guy who is supposed to tell us about deployments? And you didn't know about this before? How can he act like the military just "recently learned" how many people were there? How long have they been there? They didn't seem to answer that question in the report.
No wonder they failed seven audits. Are they truly this ignorant?
When he was asked why they hadn't disclosed this before, he "denied there was any attempt to obfuscate the real number and said he only learned of the true number on Thursday before his briefing."
He claimed "sensitivity from a diplomatic and operation security standpoint.”
But if that were true, it would still be sensitive now. But it apparently isn't. So that doesn't make a lot of sense.
It sounds like either they've been lying their heads off to us, or they're blithering idiots. Or both.
I'm guessing one of the reasons we may be hearing this now is that President-elect Trump is coming in, and he's about to find out about this. But having more than double the number you claimed and the spokesperson saying he didn't even know is a big deal. Then how are we even supposed to trust what they are telling us now?
We desperately need a reorientation and the real adults back in charge.
They want you to believe that they just "found out" where a whole battalion plus was chilling in the desert.

Like they thought those troops were in North Carolina. https://t.co/pjKPTY2e4u
So, the people who have failed 7 audits in a row don't how many troops we have in Syria? Shocking https://t.co/wEp2Kj32j7
